Monsters & Memories’ current developer recommendation is Windows 10 version 21H1 (build 19043) or newer, 16 GB of RAM, a relatively modern CPU, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM or equivalent. These are provisional recommendations, not a tested minimum-spec guarantee: the game is in Early Access, and its developers say optimization is ongoing. The official FAQ does not promise a frame rate or specify a CPU model, resolution, or storage requirement.
What PC does Monsters & Memories recommend?
The game’s official Early Access FAQ says system-requirement information is limited while optimization continues. Its current recommendations are:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Operating system: Windows 10 version 21H1 (build 19043) or higher.
- Memory: 16 GB of RAM.
- Processor: A relatively modern CPU; the FAQ gives no specific model or generation.
- Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM, or equivalent.
The FAQ adds that dedicated GPUs with lower specifications and some integrated GPUs may suffice, but performance will be limited. It does not define “equivalent,” identify supported lower-spec models, or give a target resolution or frame rate. Treat the GTX 1060 reference as a comparison point, not a promise that any particular PC will run smoothly.
How to compare your PC with the recommendation
- Check your graphics card first. Compare its performance and VRAM with the FAQ’s GTX 1060 6 GB reference. The developer does not certify specific alternative cards, so a similar name or memory capacity alone does not establish equivalence.
- Check installed system memory. The recommendation is 16 GB of RAM. This is system memory, not graphics-card VRAM.
- Assess the processor cautiously. The FAQ only says “relatively modern CPU.” It publishes no model-level threshold, so there is no official CPU cutoff to compare against.
- Confirm your platform path. Windows is the primary supported game-client platform. Mac and Linux instructions involve compatibility layers rather than native game-client support.
If you are considering a hardware upgrade, compare current independent performance results for the resolution you intend to use, as well as price, warranty, power requirements, and connectors. The game’s published guidance does not validate any current GPU or complete PC configuration. The GTX 1060 is an older reference card; its inclusion is not a recommendation to buy one.

Does Monsters & Memories support Mac or Linux?
The official launcher instructions identify Windows as the primary platform for the game client. Their Mac and Linux downloads are launcher-only compatibility-layer workflows, not evidence of native game-client support.
For Linux, the instructions recommend the native launcher build with umu-launcher to run the client through Proton. They also list webkit2gtk-4.1 as a launcher dependency. Consult the launcher page for the current steps and dependencies; the requirements FAQ does not provide a separate Mac or Linux hardware specification.

Where are the graphics settings, and how should you tune them?
Official beta patch notes say the former Options and related panels were replaced by a unified Settings menu. That menu contains Audio, Interface, Graphics, Key binds, and Chat Settings. The notes do not publish a recommended preset or a settings-by-settings FPS guide.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Open the game’s Settings menu and select Graphics.
- Change one graphics option at a time, then check whether the change helps.
- Compare performance in the same location and from the same viewpoint each time. This makes your own before-and-after check more useful than comparing unrelated areas.
This incremental comparison is practical guidance, not a developer-published test procedure. Since the official notes provide no settings recipe, there is no documented universal combination that guarantees better performance.

What performance evidence is available?
The official requirements and reviewed patch notes publish no FPS target or comparative benchmark. A single official-forum post dated August 11, 2026 illustrates why individual reports should not be treated as a forecast: one player reported 20–30 FPS when looking toward Night Harbor from one location, about 40 FPS in a dungeon, and better performance from another view. The player listed a Ryzen 7 5700X, Arc B580 12 GB, and 16 GB of RAM, and said changing options did not make a difference on that machine. This is an uncontrolled account from one PC and cannot establish typical performance or its cause.
Beta patch 3 notes document improvements to character loading and zoning, as well as fixes for server memory leaks. Those changes are not evidence of a particular client-side FPS increase.
