Monty Python and the Holy Grail crossed over with Magic: The Gathering in two 2024 Secret Lair drops. Vol. 1 has five cards, including a double-sided Birds of Paradise as “African Swallow” // “European Swallow.” Vol. 2 has three Magic cards and Marit Lage, reimagined as “The Black Beast of Aaargh.”
What cards are in the Monty Python Secret Lair drops?
Wizards of the Coast released two separate volumes, rather than a full standalone Magic set. The table lists each Magic card alongside its Monty Python-themed name; the double-sided swallow card counts as one card.

How to check a listing today
The official sale window has passed, so a present-day purchase may be a secondary-market transaction. Check the listing itself rather than treating the original price as a resale benchmark.
- Confirm whether the listing is for Vol. 1, Vol. 2, an individual card, or a complete volume.
- Verify the foil treatment: non-foil and traditional foil were separate original options.
- Review the seller and the stated card condition, and make sure the listing matches the product or card you intend to buy.
Wizards’ Secret Lair production-and-shipping status page was updated September 28, 2026, but its available information does not establish current availability for these 2024 drops.
