Its signature puzzles involve changing architecture and perspective to uncover routes, while sailing across rising waters adds another part to the journey. The game launched on Netflix Games in December 2024, and ustwo later announced releases for PC and consoles.
What is Monument Valley 3 about?
In Monument Valley 3, Noor discovers that the world’s light is fading and sets out to find a new source of power. Netflix’s official synopsis also describes a village she must bring together and guide to a new home. The developer presents the game as a new story in the Monument Valley series.

The premise is about more than reaching the end of a puzzle. Noor’s search takes place in a world facing change, with the village’s journey providing a broader goal for the adventure. That is the story setup described by the studio and Netflix; it does not establish how the narrative develops chapter by chapter.
How do the puzzles and sailing work?
Architecture you can manipulate
The central interaction is with the environment: touch, rotate, and manipulate structures to reveal paths through perspective puzzles and optical illusions. As in the series’ established visual approach, the route forward depends on how parts of a scene line up. The official descriptions explain the basic interaction but do not establish the puzzles’ difficulty or how they feel to play.

- This Nintendo Switch system takes on a totally fresh look from the new Splatoon 3 game.
A journey across rising water
Noor also sails across rising waters. Xbox’s listing describes boat travel alongside shifting architecture and a puzzle journey through temples and ruins. Sailing is therefore part of the adventure, not simply another name for the perspective-puzzle mechanic; the available descriptions do not specify its detailed controls or challenge.

Netflix announced the partnership in August 2024. Game Director Jennifer Estaris said the goal was to bring the series’ largest entry to as many people as possible through Netflix memberships. Her reference to “hundreds of millions” described the intended reach of the partnership, not a count of Monument Valley 3 players. Netflix’s announcement
Is this a review of the game?
Noor’s premise, the perspective-based architecture puzzles, and the sailing journey are established by the official game descriptions. Those descriptions do not establish completion time, puzzle difficulty, or how the mechanics feel in practice. A verdict such as “blew me away” would require firsthand play; it cannot be substantiated from release and storefront information alone.
