A December 2024 report said unnamed PlayStation-exclusive games were expected to come to Xbox Series X|S in 2025, but it named no titles. That forecast window has passed. Helldivers 2 later received an official Xbox release, but there is no evidence that it was one of the games in the earlier report.
What did the 2024 report claim?
On December 17, 2024, Insider Gaming reported that Windows Central reporter Jez Corden had relayed information from unnamed sources: more “unannounced and previously PlayStation-exclusive games” were slated for Xbox Series X|S in 2025. The report did not identify any games, and it was unclear whether the titles were first-party or third-party. This was a sourced forecast, not an official Xbox or PlayStation announcement. Which PlayStation exclusives were coming to Xbox?
The original claim named none. AltChar’s same-day follow-up floated Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 16, Black Myth: Wukong and Helldivers 2 as possibilities, but those were suggestions and rumors in that coverage—not a list supplied by Corden’s unnamed sources or confirmed Xbox ports. So those names should not be treated as the answer to which games the report meant. The available reporting does not establish a complete list of 2025 ports or identify the games behind the forecast.

What was later confirmed for Xbox?
Helldivers 2
Xbox announced on July 3, 2025 that Helldivers 2 would arrive on Xbox Series X|S on August 26, 2025. The PlayStation US page also gives that Xbox launch date, and the Xbox listing identifies the game as a full game for Xbox Series X|S published by PlayStation Publishing LLC. These official sources establish the port; they do not show that Helldivers 2 was one of the unnamed titles in the December 2024 report. Separately, Sony Interactive Entertainment said that Helldivers 2 had welcomed more than 22.9 million players across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC as of August 9, 2026. That is a combined player figure—not a sales count or an Xbox-only total. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s 2026 statement

How to read the claim now
The 2025 window is over, so the headline is best understood as a historical rumor rather than current news about an upcoming slate. When checking any individual port, look for the specific game, platform, release date or window, and the status of the source: a publisher or platform announcement confirms more than an unnamed-source report or an outlet’s speculation.
Also, “previously PlayStation-exclusive” does not by itself mean “published by PlayStation.” The original report did not specify ownership or publishing for its unnamed games. Helldivers 2 is a confirmed example of a PlayStation-published game reaching Xbox, but its connection to that forecast remains unproven.
