To perform a Fatality in Mortal Kombat 1, wait for “Finish Them,” stand at the distance listed for the move, then enter its directional and attack-button command. You do not have to unlock a Fatality before performing it if you know the input. Character mastery reveals the second Fatality’s hidden command in the Move List; the sources available here do not establish a specific mastery level.
How to enter a Fatality
- Finish the match and wait for the “Finish Them” prompt. The cited guide says it appears at the end of a full two-round fight.
- Move to the listed range, such as Close or Mid. Incorrect spacing can make an otherwise correct input fail.
- Enter the directional and attack-button sequence for the fighter’s Fatality. The commands below are listed assuming your fighter faces right; if your fighter faces left, reverse left and right.
Button names depend on platform. Use the symbols or labels for your controller rather than assuming a PlayStation command maps directly to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or PC. The command reference from Mortal Kombat Warehouse lets you select PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, or PC.

Do you have to unlock the second Fatality?
No. GameFAQs says Fatalities can be performed without unlocking them, so you can use a known command even while its Move List entry is hidden. Character mastery reveals the second Fatality’s input in the in-game list; the sources cited here do not verify a particular level. Unlocked finishers do not need to be equipped.

Example Fatality inputs
These examples use PlayStation-style buttons and assume the fighter faces right. Use the appropriate button labels for your platform, and reverse left and right when facing left.
| Character | Fatality | Input | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ashrah | Heavenly Light | Down, Right, Down, Triangle | Mid |
| Ashrah | Second Fatality | Down, Down, Left, Circle | Mid |

For a complete character-by-character list, including DLC characters, consult Push Square’s Fatality guide or Mortal Kombat Warehouse’s command reference. The latter offers platform selection. Kameo Fatalities are separate from the main fighter’s finishers; check the Kameo entry rather than using a fighter command.
