Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is a bundle that includes the base game plus Kombat Pack 1, the Aftermath Expansion, and Kombat Pack 2. The standard Mortal Kombat 11 edition is the base game, so it does not include that full set of paid add-ons. Ultimate is the more complete package for a new player, but existing owners should check which content their platform account already has before buying.
What does Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate include?
WB Games describes Ultimate as the base game bundled with three major add-ons: Kombat Pack 1, the Aftermath Expansion, and Kombat Pack 2. The current US PlayStation Store listing also includes Shao Kahn. Because bonus content can differ by platform or listing, confirm the contents shown for the exact offer you plan to buy.

WB calls Ultimate a 37-character roster, and the Xbox Store describes it as including two story campaigns—the Mortal Kombat 11 campaign and Aftermath. Those are platform-store product descriptions, not independent counts. PlayStation Store listing Xbox Store listing
What is different from the standard edition?
The standard edition gives you Mortal Kombat 11’s base game. Ultimate packages that base game with the named paid expansions and character packs. If you own the standard edition, you do not need to buy Ultimate specifically to get the DLC: compare its price and contents with the Ultimate Add-On Bundle or the individual add-ons available for your platform.

Are any Ultimate features free updates?
Not everything released around Aftermath is locked behind the expansion. WB said that new stages, Stage Fatalities, and Friendships arrived in a free game update alongside Aftermath. Owners of Mortal Kombat 11 should not buy Ultimate solely to get those update features. WB Games’ Aftermath announcement
Does Ultimate include a better version for newer consoles?
Ultimate includes next-generation versions, but eligible PS4 and Xbox One owners were offered free upgrades, so an existing owner may not need to repurchase the bundle for the console upgrade alone.

Upgrade eligibility and disc conditions depend on console, edition, and region. Check WB’s PS5 FAQ and Xbox Series X|S FAQ for the applicable requirements.
What should existing owners check before buying?
- Check your account’s entitlements. See which packs and characters are already tied to your PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or PC account. Ultimate includes the base game as well as DLC, while the add-on bundle is DLC; buying the full game can duplicate a base-game entitlement.
- Check whether the offer is a game or DLC. Confirm whether you are looking at a physical disc, a digital game bundle, or a DLC-only add-on, and compare the price of only the missing content.
- For a PS4 disc upgrade to PS5, verify the disc requirements. WB says the PS5 must have a disc drive and the disc region must match the PSN ID region. Some physical Aftermath Kollection or Ultimate packages require redeeming an included voucher for the upgrade and previously included DLC.
- For an Xbox One disc on Xbox Series X|S, check the console drive. A disc-based upgrade requires a disc-drive Xbox Series X. WB says progression and inventory carry over with the same Xbox login; local settings may need a separate transfer.
- Read the current regional listing. Platform, region, and format affect availability and included content. Do not rely on an old package description or a listing for another territory.
Which platforms and physical versions are available?
WB lists Ultimate for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Its FAQ recorded launch-era format differences: Nintendo Switch in the Americas and PC worldwide were digital-only, while PS4 physical availability had regional exceptions. WB also announced a physical Kollector’s Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with the game, a Sub-Zero mask statue, steelcase, magnet, and Avalanche Sub-Zero skin.
