There is no defensible all-time winner in the available figures: OpenCritic has a PS4 index sorted by “Most Reviewed,” but its current game order and review totals are not established here. That distinction matters because review volume is not the same as a high score or frequent inclusion on critics’ recommendation lists.
Why there is no verified all-time leader here
OpenCritic’s PS4 all-time browse index uses the “Most Reviewed” sort, making it the closest match to the question of which PS4 games have the most reviews. Its accessible listing does not reveal the current top games or totals, so naming a winner or publishing an ordered list would be unsupported. The ranking should be read with its source and retrieval date, since review counts can change. OpenCritic’s PS4 browse index

There is another complication: a game record may cover a specific PS4 release, while other databases can organize titles, editions, remasters, and cross-platform releases differently. Counts from separate sites should not be combined as though they came from one shared dataset.
Review counts and review scores answer different questions
A review count measures how many critic reviews are included in a source’s record; a score summarizes those reviews. A dated example makes the difference clear: Guinness World Records reported that Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 were tied at 97% on Metacritic for PS4 as of September 13, 2023, while their scores were based on 66 and 109 critic reviews, respectively. Those are Metacritic counts from that snapshot, not current OpenCritic totals. Guinness World Records’ PS4 record

Why familiar “best PS4 games” lists do not settle it
Metacritic ranks by score
Metacritic’s all-time PS4 catalogue is ordered by Metascore, not by the number of reviews. It also excludes games with fewer than seven critic reviews. Its catalogue includes titles such as The Last of Us Remastered, God of War, Grand Theft Auto V, and The Last of Us Part II, but their presence or position there does not establish that they lead by review volume. Recommendation aggregates count list mentions
Acclaimed Video Games aggregates recommendations across critics’ lists rather than counting individual reviews. The site says its overall dataset covers 1,400 recommended games across 913 critic lists from 142 publications; those figures describe its dataset, not PS4 review totals. Its PS4 list includes The Last of Us, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, and Grand Theft Auto V near the top, but that is a different measure. The page was updated March 25, 2026. How to check a “most reviewed” ranking
Before treating a list as an answer, check what it counts and what release its entry represents:
- Source and metric: Is it counting critic reviews, user ratings, or mentions on recommendation lists?
- Platform record: Is the entry specifically for the PS4 version, or does it combine a game across platforms or editions?
- Snapshot date: When was the ranking viewed? Review totals and ordering may change.
- Release treatment: Are remasters, editions, and expansions separate entries or grouped together?
These checks prevent a high-scoring catalogue or recommendation list from being mistaken for a review-volume ranking.
