Yes—supported Call of Duty progression carries from Xbox to PC when both platforms are linked to the same Activision account. Activision stores progression on that Activision account rather than on the Xbox, Steam, or Blizzard platform account. The important limits are that the particular Call of Duty title must support cross-progression, and currencies or purchases can follow different platform rules.
How Call of Duty cross-progression works
Your platform account is the way you sign in, but the Activision account is where progression is stored for crossplay-enabled Call of Duty games. If your Xbox account and the account you use to play on PC are both connected to one Activision account, supported progression is available on either platform. Activision describes this as being able to play on any linked platform while your progression carries over.

On PC, the platform account may be a Steam account or a Blizzard account. The provider does not change the basic rule: the Xbox account and the PC provider account must point to the same Activision account. Having the same console profile name, email address, or game ownership is not enough if the underlying Activision accounts are different.

Cross-progression is a game-specific feature. Do not treat every Call of Duty release, mode, item, currency, or purchase as covered simply because one title supports shared progression. Use the support page for the exact game when you need to verify an exception.

What you need before moving from Xbox to PC
- One Activision account: both your Xbox account and your PC account must be linked to it.
- A supported game: the Call of Duty title must support cross-progression for the progress you want to use.
- The correct PC provider account: link the Steam or Blizzard account that you will actually use to launch the game.
- Avoid casual unlinking: Activision limits unlinking a platform account to once every 12 months.
Activision allows only one linked account per provider. That means you cannot keep two Xbox accounts or two Steam accounts attached to one Activision account at the same time. Check the account relationship before you start a game on PC, especially if you have more than one Activision login.
How to check and link your accounts
- Sign in to the Activision account that contains your Xbox progress. If you have used multiple Activision logins, identify the one on which your existing Call of Duty profile appears.
- Open Account Management and select Linked Accounts. This is the area Activision provides for connecting platform accounts.
- Review the Xbox connection. Confirm that the Xbox account shown there is the profile where you earned the progress.
- Link your PC provider account. Choose Steam or Blizzard, then complete that provider’s sign-in and authorization process.
- Confirm the result in Linked Accounts. You should see the Xbox account and the intended PC account attached to the same Activision account. If a provider already has a different account linked, stop and resolve that mismatch before launching the game.
Linking a platform account to a different Activision account does not move its existing progress. It creates a different account relationship instead. If you are unsure which Activision login owns the profile, do not experiment by repeatedly linking and unlinking accounts; the 12-month unlink restriction can leave you unable to correct the setup quickly.
What normally carries over
When the title supports cross-progression and the account links are correct, earned progression is associated with the Activision account rather than the platform. The exact items covered depend on the game. The distinctions below prevent a level or Battle Pass assumption from being applied incorrectly to money or purchases.

| Item or activity | Xbox-to-PC treatment | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Player progression earned in a supported title | Should be available on PC through the same Activision account. | Confirm that the title supports cross-progression and that both platform accounts use the same Activision login. |
| Battle Pass progression | Can carry over where the title’s cross-progression rules include it. | Check the current support guidance for that game and season. |
| Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies progression | Included in the title-specific progression guidance. | Use the Black Ops 6 account and platform setup described below. |
| Warzone progression | Black Ops 6 and Warzone guidance includes Warzone beginning with Season 01. | Do not extend this date-specific example to every earlier Call of Duty release. |
| COD Points or other currency | May be subject to platform-specific rules. | Check the game’s current currency policy before buying or expecting a balance on PC. |
| Purchased bundles and other paid content | Must be treated separately from earned progression; transfer rules can vary by game, platform, and purchase type. | Consult the exact title’s support page rather than assuming a purchase follows your level. |
The practical rule is to separate “what my profile earned” from “what a platform store sold me.” A shared level or Battle Pass does not, by itself, prove that COD Points or every purchased item will be visible on both platforms.
Switching to PC after playing on Xbox
- Finish the account check in Activision Account Management before opening the PC game.
- Launch the Call of Duty title through the linked Steam or Blizzard account.
- Sign in when prompted with the same Activision account used for Xbox. Do not create or select a second Activision account just because the PC launcher is new to you.
- Enter the game and inspect the profile level, unlocked content, and Battle Pass status that the title exposes. These are the useful indicators that you reached the intended account.
- If the profile looks new or different, stop playing on that login. Continuing to earn progress on the wrong Activision account can make the account mismatch harder to diagnose.
There is no general “merge” operation that combines two separate Activision accounts. The goal is to access the original account, not to combine independent profiles.
If your Xbox progress is missing on PC
1. Check the Activision account first
The most common explanation for separate progress is that Xbox and PC are linked to different Activision accounts. Return to the Linked Accounts area and compare the Activision login associated with each platform. A different platform account name does not necessarily mean the Activision accounts differ, so verify the actual account relationship rather than guessing from display names.

2. Stop before unlinking anything
Unlinking is restricted to once every 12 months. It is not a routine troubleshooting step. If the links are correct, unlinking can create a new problem without fixing the missing profile.
3. Recover the original relationship when the wrong link was used
Activision states that progress and content are not lost when a platform account is attached to the wrong Activision account. Access resumes when that platform account is relinked to the original Activision account that held the progress. This is a restoration of the existing account relationship, not a transfer into the newer account.
4. Do not try to merge profiles
If you intentionally created separate Activision accounts, their progress cannot simply be combined. Identify the account with the desired Xbox profile and connect the PC platform account to that original account, subject to Activision’s account-linking restrictions.

5. Escalate title-specific cases
If the same Activision account is confirmed on both platforms but a particular mode, currency, or purchase is still absent, consult the support page for that Call of Duty title. The rules can differ by game, platform, currency, and type of purchased content.

Activision’s Black Ops 6 and Warzone guidance gives a concrete example of the cross-progression model. Black Ops 6 progression carries across platforms linked to the same Activision account. The guidance also says that Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies contribute to overall player progression and Battle Pass progression.
For Warzone, the same guidance applies beginning with Season 01. That is a title- and season-specific statement, not a guarantee that every older Call of Duty release uses identical rules. If you are moving from Xbox to PC for a different release, check that release’s current support documentation before relying on the Black Ops 6 example.

Even in this example, keep progression separate from store transactions. The fact that your Black Ops 6 level or Battle Pass is available on PC does not automatically establish that COD Points or every purchase follows the same path.
Account-linking scenarios at a glance
| Xbox account | PC account | Likely result | Correct action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Linked to Activision account A | Linked to Activision account A | Supported progression should be shared. | Use the same Activision login on PC and verify the title’s rules. |
| Linked to Activision account A | Linked to Activision account B | Separate profiles or missing progress. | Reconnect the PC platform account to account A if it is the original account, observing unlink limits. |
| Xbox account linked correctly | PC provider account not linked | PC cannot access the Xbox profile through cross-progression. | Link the intended Steam or Blizzard account in Linked Accounts. |
| Two Xbox accounts under consideration | One Activision account | Only one account per provider can be linked. | Choose the Xbox account that owns the desired progress; do not expect both to coexist under one provider slot. |
| Same Activision account | Currency or purchase appears absent | Platform-specific transaction rules may apply. | Check the game’s support guidance for that currency or purchase type. |
Questions to answer before you change platforms
- Which Activision account has my Xbox profile? Find this before linking a PC account.
- Which PC launcher will I use? Link the correct Steam or Blizzard account, not a temporary account.
- Is my game one of the titles with cross-progression? The feature is not universal across every Call of Duty release.
- Am I asking about earned progression or a store transaction? Levels and Battle Pass progress are different from COD Points and purchased content.
- Have I already unlinked an account recently? The once-per-12-month restriction makes a wrong link costly to correct.
For the question “Does COD progress carry over from Xbox to PC?”, the reliable answer is therefore conditional rather than universal: supported progression follows the Activision account, and the Xbox and PC accounts must be linked to that same account. Verify the individual title and treat currencies and purchases as separate cases.
