What can you do at Mox Chandler?
Play games, browse, or bring a group
Mox describes Chandler as a combination of restaurant and bar, tabletop-game shop, and place to play. Visitors can borrow games from the free board-game library, shop for tabletop titles, and use spaces intended for groups. The company says its locations have over 10,000 square feet of dining and gaming space and libraries with hundreds of titles; those are company-wide descriptions, not an independently audited count for Chandler.

How the Arizona expansion happened
Mox was founded in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood in 2011 and is part of the Card Kingdom family, according to the company’s about page. Chandler was announced as a planned fourth store in July 2021. The City of Chandler said the proposed location would exceed 10,000 square feet; that was a pre-opening plan, not a current independent measurement. The city’s announcement also relayed a broad Mox description of more than a thousand game titles across categories such as miniatures, board games, role-playing games, and card games. That figure should not be read as a current count of Chandler’s borrowable library.
In the 2021 announcement, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke said, “We are thrilled to welcome this unique restaurant and entertainment concept to Uptown Chandler.” Mox Director Jorel Miller said, “Each of our locations provide an opportunity to unplug and spend quality time with others.” Both statements were attributed to the city’s announcement on July 9, 2021, not to the 2024 opening.
