Wizards of the Coast has not announced a new release date for the reworked Secret Lair x Monster Hunter Superdrop in the official sources reviewed. Wizards postponed and entirely reworked the product in November 2025, promising an updated date and more details in 2026. The reviewed announcements do not give that date or reveal the replacement contents.
What happened to the Monster Hunter Superdrop?
On November 26, 2025, Wizards of the Coast announced that it was postponing and reworking the Secret Lair x Monster Hunter Superdrop. The company said the original concept fell short of expectations, citing its card selection and how faithfully it brought Monster Hunter’s world and mechanics into Magic.
Wizards put it plainly: “But in our excitement, we missed the mark on elements like card selection and faithfully integrating the world and mechanics of Monster Hunter.” (Wizards of the Coast’s announcement.) It also said Capcom was on board with another attempt at the Superdrop.
When will the reworked Superdrop be released?
Wizards said it would share new details and an updated release date “in a few months,” and asked fans to watch for more information in 2026. That announcement did not give a specific replacement date. In the official sources reviewed, no subsequent Monster Hunter release date or reworked card list is stated.

Wizards continued to publish Secret Lair announcements in 2026. For example, its September 30, 2026 announcement gave the separate Corn Maze Superdrop an October 12, 2026 arrival date; it did not mention a Monster Hunter date. That other product’s schedule does not establish when the Monster Hunter Superdrop will arrive.
Is a date circulating online official?
A date should be treated as unconfirmed unless it appears in a current official Wizards announcement. The official material reviewed supports the postponement and the promise of a future update, but not a particular replacement date or set of cards.

What to know about Secret Lair timing
Secret Lair support explains the general Drop Series lifecycle, including release dates and shipping. Those general instructions do not determine the Monster Hunter product’s schedule: a sale date and release or shipping timing are not necessarily interchangeable, and no Monster Hunter-specific timing is established there. See Secret Lair Support’s Drop Series guidance for general information.
