The Borealis camo equip bug was addressed in Modern Warfare III’s November 21, 2023 launch patch notes. The separate “Deploy to Zakhaev’s Stronghold” mission-tracking issue was reported as under investigation the day before, but its current resolution is not confirmed by the available official status information. “Coming soon” was historical wording, not a current promise.
These were two different MWIII bugs
The Zakhaev issue involved progression tracking for an Act 3 Zombies mission objective: players reported trouble with “Deploy to Zakhaev’s Stronghold.” The Borealis issue affected a different action—equipping the weapon camo after it had already been unlocked. The November 21 patch note specifically addresses Borealis; it does not establish a fix for the Zakhaev objective.

What the Borealis patch note confirms
Under Tuesday, November 21, 2023, Activision’s launch patch notes state: “Addressed an issue that prevented players from equipping the Borealis Weapon Camo once it has been unlocked.” That is the documented fix for the equip-after-unlock problem. It does not establish that every later camo display or progression problem is the same issue.

What is known about the Zakhaev objective
A November 20, 2023 report described the first step of “Defeat Zakhaev Act 3 story mission” as under investigation, based on player reports. That contemporaneous report does not verify a later fix, and its “coming soon” framing should not be read as a present-day developer commitment.
Activision’s MWIII known-issues page and bug-report route are the official places to check for current status or report a reproducible issue. The available status information does not confirm a current entry or resolution specifically for Zakhaev’s Stronghold.
