My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend is currently presented as a free-to-download Windows multiplayer game. Xai announced in July 2024 that the game would debut exclusively on its blockchain, but that announcement is not confirmation of its present chain deployment. Here’s what the game offers now, what you need to run it, and what is known about its optional wallet features.
What is My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend?
My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend (MAYG) is a turn-based, third-person shooter from Peeking Duck Studios. The official site describes a late-1990s Tokyo setting: Miki-San, a socialite and heir to a powerful clan, is searching for her kidnapped boyfriend in a nightclub where rival assassins are waiting.
Matches are free-for-all encounters for three to five players. Players act one at a time, choose a weapon, and have 15 seconds to commit their move; the last player standing wins. Weapons differ in range, splash damage, and knockback, while environmental damage can alter cover and positioning. The official site summarizes the format as “A turn-based shooter for three to five players. Fifteen seconds a turn. Last woman standing takes the table.” (MAYG official site)
Is the game available, and do you need a wallet?
The official site currently says MAYG is live on PC, free to download, and accessed through a launcher. Its standard account path asks for an email address, password, and player name; the site does not say that a wallet or NFT is required to download and play the standard game.
A separate Platinum account path is described for MAYG collectible holders and includes wallet verification by QR scan. The site also links to the Princess Collection, Black Card, and $MAYG token. These on-chain-facing options should not be confused with requirements for standard access, nor do the links establish anything about the token’s value or investment quality.
The official site also describes room progression through Tiffany, Bulgari, and Cartier, including a room staked in $MAYG, plus an Angry Point earned per match and daily refreshes. Stakes, token functions, collectible eligibility, and marketplace access can change; check the live MAYG site for current terms before taking any operational or financial action.
What did Xai announce, and what is confirmed now?
On July 11, 2024, Xai Foundation announced a strategic partnership with Peeking Duck Studios and said MAYG would be the first studio title to go live on Xai, with an exclusive debut planned. GamesBeat reported the announcement at the time and described MAYG as a Web3 original PC game. Its coverage also mentioned a projected open-beta timeline, which is historical rather than a current schedule. (Xai Foundation announcement via PR Newswire; GamesBeat’s July 2024 report)
Xai’s current games catalog lists MAYG as an original social competitive PC game modeled on 1990s Tokyo. The current MAYG page says the game is live on PC and displays links to on-chain assets, but the reviewed current pages do not establish a current Xai launch date, a chain contract for gameplay assets, or a wallet requirement for ordinary matches. The careful distinction is that Xai announced an exclusive blockchain debut in 2024; the announcement alone does not verify today’s chain status. (Xai games catalog; MAYG official site)

The MAYG site says voice chat is enabled in every match. Controls, audio, and video options are available from the lobby or in-game menu. Since the game is turn-based, its 15-second action window is central to the match format rather than a conventional real-time shooter’s continuous movement and firing.
