Mythical Games announced its acquisition of DMarket on January 25, 2023, alongside the launch of Mythical Marketplace 2.0. The company said DMarket’s marketplace technology was integrated into the new service, which ran on Mythical Chain. Neither the announcement nor the transaction summary reviewed disclosed a purchase price or financial terms.
What is DMarket?
DMarket was a marketplace technology startup focused on trading digital assets. Its platform let users buy and trade game-related assets. In December 2022, before the acquisition announcement, DMarket said it was moving its platform from Exonum to Mythical Chain and was part of the Mythos Foundation ecosystem. DMarket’s December 19, 2022 update described changes to wallet ID formats, transaction-history access, and platform setup.
Did Mythical Games buy DMarket?
Yes. On January 25, 2023, DMarket announced that Mythical Games had acquired it and launched Mythical Marketplace 2.0 following the acquisition. The company announcement described the deal and integration; Mergr’s transaction summary lists the same date but gives no deal value. No purchase price or financial terms were disclosed in those sources.
DMarket’s announcement said its Kyiv office would become part of Mythical East, headquartered in Lisbon, and that co-founders Vlad Panchenko and Tamara Slanova would join Mythical’s executive leadership team. These were arrangements announced at the time, not confirmation of the founders’ current roles or the office’s current status.

At launch, it supported assets from NFL Rivals and Nitro Nation World Tour; Mythical said it planned to extend support to other games in its portfolio. That expansion was a stated plan, not a confirmed result.

What was supposed to change for DMarket users?
The transition had been communicated before the acquisition announcement. DMarket’s December 19, 2022 update said the platform was moving from Exonum to Mythical Chain, with changes to wallet IDs and transaction-history access. In January 2023, DMarket said its website would retain a familiar purchasing experience in U.S. dollars while trades were recorded on Mythical Chain. Those statements describe the announced arrangement at that time, not a verified current service.

The January 2023 announcement provides a picture of the planned integration: DMarket technology was incorporated into Marketplace 2.0, the Kyiv office was to join Mythical East, and the founders were to join Mythical leadership. The available cited sources do not establish the current status of DMarket.com or Marketplace 2.0, which games are supported now, whether the announced user arrangements persisted, or the founders’ present positions.
For context, Axios reported on February 2, 2023 on founder Vlad Panchenko and the pressures of Russia’s war in Ukraine. The report also noted that a proposed DMarket NFT plan for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 had been canceled after gamer backlash in December 2021. That context does not establish a cause for the acquisition.
