NBA 2K24’s MyNBA Eras mode is available only in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. It adds the LeBron Era, a 2010s franchise starting in 2011. NBA 2K24 has since been discontinued: 2K says owners can still play offline MyNBA, but online and server-dependent features are no longer available.
What is MyNBA Eras in NBA 2K24?
MyNBA Eras is a franchise mode: you run an NBA team, make roster and front-office decisions, and play through a historical setting that you can recreate or reshape. NBA 2K24 added the LeBron Era, joining the game’s existing historical settings. 2K described the mode as a way to take control of the NBA’s past and future in franchise play. 2K’s announcement says the new era begins in 2011, during the period when LeBron James joined Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

The game’s official MyNBA page has been indexed as describing five eras, including Magic vs. Bird and Jordan. However, the available official information does not reliably establish all five names, so a complete list cannot be confirmed here.
How the era progresses
According to 2K’s announcement, selected players automatically age as the game advances into the Modern Era. The publisher says this aging feature applies across historical Eras.

MyNBA Lite is a separate option
MyNBA Lite is a streamlined franchise mode for quicker decisions. One example is that it allows trades without CBA restrictions. It is distinct from the historical-era framing of MyNBA Eras.
Which NBA 2K24 platforms include Eras?
The deciding factor is console generation, not simply whether a platform can run NBA 2K24. 2K identifies MyNBA as a feature of the new-generation PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. The PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC versions offer MyLEAGUE instead; that is a distinct mode, not the new-generation MyNBA Eras experience. The launch announcement lists the platforms and distinguishes the mode availability.

NBA 2K24 launched on September 8, 2023, for those six platform families. If you are checking a listing for a physical copy, verify the exact console and generation on the box or listing: a PS4 or Xbox One copy does not become the PS5 or Series X|S version just because it is played on a newer console.

As of 2K Support’s Server Sunsets notice, published July 31, 2025 and updated January 6, 2026, NBA 2K24 is discontinued and no longer available for purchase from 2K. That notice does not establish current third-party stock, so availability of used or remaining physical copies depends on the seller.

For existing owners, 2K says offline modes, including MyNBA, remain playable and the game can be redownloaded. Server-dependent services have ended. That includes multiplayer, Online Leagues, community sharing, MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and VC earning where those functions require 2K servers. Buying a used copy does not restore those services.
