Com2uS opened pre-registration for NBA NOW 22 on September 28, 2021, ahead of a planned iOS and Android release. The publisher later reported that the officially NBA-licensed mobile basketball game launched globally on October 20, 2021. Its announcement-era features included vertical one-handed controls, player and tactical cards, real NBA data, and several game modes. Whether it remains available to download or play today is unconfirmed.
What is NBA NOW 22?
NBA NOW 22 was presented as a free-to-play mobile basketball simulation with in-app purchases. Com2uS Japan described vertical, one-handed controls and a mix of basketball play and card-based strategy. Players could use in-game player cards, while tactical cards strengthened player attributes; the cited announcements describe digital game mechanics, not a physical card product.
The pre-registration announcement said the game would feature more than 4,000 current and retired NBA players and draw on real-time NBA data for player appearances, statistics, and league schedules. In its October launch announcement, Com2uS reported more than 6,000 current and retired players. Those are figures from separate publisher announcements at different stages, not a single simultaneous count.
When did NBA NOW 22 come out?
Com2uS Japan announced pre-registration on September 28, 2021, for iOS and Android, with release planned within that year. The publisher said global service began on October 20, 2021, also for iOS and Android. The October announcement listed information for all 30 NBA teams and support for eight languages.

What did pre-registration include?
For the 2021 pre-registration campaign, Com2uS promoted a Joel Embiid Live Gold Card and a Live Advanced Player Pack as rewards. These were launch-period promotional offers; they should not be read as current rewards or an active promotion.
What licensing did Com2uS announce?
The pre-registration release stated that NBA and NBA member-team identifications were the intellectual property of NBA Properties, Inc. and the respective teams. It also identified the game as an officially licensed product of the National Basketball Players Association. These are licensing statements from the publisher’s announcement.

Is NBA NOW 22 still available?
Current download and service status is not confirmed. The old store links in Com2uS Japan’s announcements could not be verified, and the game’s former official pre-registration URL now redirects to a generic Com2uS Platform page without readable game-status information. That does not establish whether the app is still listed, downloadable, or playable in any particular region.

In contemporary coverage, Tech Times attributed this statement to Kyu Lee, then president of GAMEVIL Com2uS USA: “Every game in the NBA is an opportunity to see incredible talent and strategy play out on the court and we looked to capture that tactical, chalk-talk feeling into ‘NBA NOW 22,’” The quote describes the company’s design intent; it is not independent evidence of player experience or reception.
