Netflix Games is a membership-linked catalog of downloadable mobile titles, not a separate genre of horror games. Its supernatural thrillers OXENFREE and OXENFREE II: Lost Signals show what a story-led, horror-adjacent experience can look like, but gameplay and controls vary by title. To compare Netflix games with other mobile horror games, check the specific game’s input method, pace, network needs, save behavior, device compatibility, and rating.
Netflix mobile games are installed on supported phones and tablets. Netflix also offers a separate TV-and-computer games feature where a phone or tablet can act as a controller; that setup is not the control scheme for a game installed on your phone.
What Netflix Games means for mobile players
Netflix mobile games are downloaded through the Netflix app or the relevant app store and require an active Netflix membership. Netflix says they have no extra in-game purchases and do not require a separate game account. When starting a game, you choose a Netflix profile; Netflix uses that profile for game progress. Netflix’s mobile games help page explains access and installation.
The catalog is broad rather than horror-specific. Netflix listed more than 120 exclusive mobile games on September 9, 2026; that is a dated catalog count, not a guarantee of a permanent total. Its current examples include games with very different premises and play styles, so membership does not mean every title will resemble a horror game.

What the OXENFREE games suggest about gameplay
OXENFREE: supernatural exploration and choices
OXENFREE is a single-player adventure built around a ghostly rift, mystery, and player choices. Netflix’s catalog describes it as a narrative thriller, making it a useful example of horror atmosphere driven by exploration and story rather than a basis for claims about every mobile horror game. Netflix’s mobile support page says this title can be played offline. Check the OXENFREE support page for its title-specific details.
OXENFREE II: Lost Signals: another narrative thriller
OXENFREE II: Lost Signals is presented as an interactive story involving a dark mystery, ghostly radio signals, cult members, and space-time portals. That premise points toward narrative suspense and mystery; it does not establish that all Netflix games, or all mobile horror games, are story-focused. Netflix’s current game listings are at All of The Games on Netflix Right Now.

How to compare gameplay and controls fairly
There is no published Netflix-wide assessment establishing that its mobile controls are better or worse than controls in other mobile horror games. Nor is there one control scheme that can safely be assumed across the Netflix catalog. A useful comparison starts with the individual games rather than the service label.
| What to compare | What to check in each game |
|---|---|
| Input and precision | Whether the game uses touch, on-screen buttons, gestures, or another supported input; whether movement, aiming, or timed actions demand precise input. |
| Pace and action demands | Whether play centers on exploration and dialogue, or asks for frequent, quick reactions. |
| Story versus survival/action | Whether suspense comes mainly from narrative choices and atmosphere, or from resource management, pursuit, combat, or other action systems. |
| Players | Whether the title is single-player or supports multiplayer. |
| Offline access and saves | Whether it can be played offline, and whether progress is saved locally or in the cloud. |
| Compatibility and rating | The exact device requirements and age rating shown for that title and region. |
Netflix’s support and catalog pages do not provide a cross-game touch-control comparison, so specific claims about controls should come from the individual game’s official listing or direct play—not from a generalization about Netflix. The same caution applies to non-Netflix horror games: their publishers, business models, genres, and control schemes differ.

Mobile controls are not the same as Netflix TV controls
In a downloaded mobile game, the game runs on the phone or tablet, and its controls are determined by that title. Netflix’s general mobile guidance explains how to install games and access them through a profile, but it does not establish a single touch interface for all games.
Netflix’s separate TV-and-computer games feature can use a phone or tablet as a controller. On a computer, keyboard and mouse are also supported. Netflix says physical gamepads and other controllers are not supported for that feature. This limitation applies to the TV/computer experience described on Netflix’s phone-or-tablet controller help page; it should not be applied to every separately installed mobile game.

Device, profile, and save details to check
Device requirements
For the best experience across Netflix games, Netflix recommends Android 9 or later, iOS 17 or later, and iPadOS 17 or later. These are general recommendations, not a guarantee that every title works on every device running those versions. Requirements vary by game, so consult the individual title’s support page and app-store listing. Netflix’s mobile games guidance provides its general compatibility advice.
Profile visibility and age ratings
Netflix assigns each game a maturity rating. A game may not appear if the selected profile’s maturity setting is below that rating, or if the device is incompatible. Check the game’s listing for its precise age rating rather than relying on a category label. Netflix describes these factors in its mobile games support information.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesOffline play and progress
Offline access and save handling are title-specific. Netflix says saves may be cloud-based or local, and its catalog notes that progress from earlier releases cannot transfer into the Netflix version. The confirmed offline example here is OXENFREE; do not assume another game works offline or handles saves the same way. Check the individual title’s support details before relying on a particular save or network behavior.
Which experience should you expect?
Choose by the actual game, not by “Netflix” versus “mobile horror” alone. If you want a supernatural mystery with narrative choices, OXENFREE is a relevant Netflix example. If you want another mobile horror game, inspect its own genre, control demands, network and save rules, multiplayer support, device requirements, and rating. Netflix membership is an access condition for its mobile catalog; it does not make every included game a horror title or impose one universal control scheme.
