Yes—Netflix membership includes a substantial games catalog, not a token add-on. Netflix says its catalog had more than 120 exclusive mobile games on September 9, 2026, with access included in membership and no ads, extra fees, or in-app purchases. You can match the catalog to a mood, download compatible titles to Android or Apple devices, and play selected games on a TV by using a phone or tablet as the controller.
What Netflix Games actually includes
Netflix games sit alongside the streaming service but use a different access model from a conventional game store. Netflix’s official catalog describes more than 120 exclusive mobile games as of September 9, 2026. That number is a snapshot rather than a permanent catalog size: titles can be added, removed, or become unavailable by region, so check the current list in Netflix before planning a particular game night.

An active Netflix membership is the gate to the catalog. According to Netflix, members do not pay a separate game fee, see advertising inside these games, or buy boosts and other items through in-app purchases. You still need a compatible device, an internet connection to download and install a game, and enough free storage. Some titles impose requirements beyond Netflix’s general device baselines.

Netflix’s own descriptions cover action, exploration, puzzles, tower defense, chess, party games, and licensed sports. Those descriptions are useful for finding a suitable type of play; they are not a common review system, critic ranking, or proof that one title is objectively better than another.

Match a game to your mood
Action and a high-reset challenge: Dead Cells: Netflix Edition
Netflix describes Dead Cells: Netflix Edition as a pixel-art action game set around escaping a castle, fighting bosses, and restarting after death. That makes it the clearest catalog fit when you want demanding runs, quick decisions, and the possibility of losing progress in a failed attempt before trying again. The description signals intensity and repetition, not a promise of a particular difficulty level or quality ranking.
Calm exploration: Laya’s Horizon
If you would rather explore than fight, Laya’s Horizon is the catalog’s gentler match. Netflix describes flying through mountains, forests, and rivers in a peaceful world. Choose it when the setting and movement matter more to you than combat pressure. Netflix’s wording establishes the intended atmosphere; it does not claim that every player will find the game relaxing.
Puzzles built around ideas: Paper Trail and Storyteller
Paper Trail centers its puzzles on folding a paper world. The physical metaphor is the main reason to look at it: it suits players who enjoy manipulating a space and working out how a world can be rearranged.
Storyteller takes a different puzzle approach. Netflix describes arranging characters and settings to construct stories. It is a natural choice if you prefer solving by testing combinations and interpreting a scenario rather than navigating an action level. Neither description supplies a comparative score, so treat both as theme-based suggestions.

Strategy and deliberate decisions: Bloons TD 6 and The Queen’s Gambit Chess
Bloons TD 6 is presented as tower defense: stop waves of balloons by placing towers, buying upgrades, and using heroes. That combination gives you a clear defensive framework with decisions about placement and improvement over time.
The Queen’s Gambit Chess is the catalog’s chess-focused option. Netflix says it includes lessons, puzzles, matches, and play with friends. It can therefore serve different experience levels, but the catalog does not state how extensive any individual lesson path is or provide a measured skill progression.
Group play in the living room
Netflix’s party-games guide highlights LEGO Party!, Boggle Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, Pictionary: Game Night, Tetris Time Warp, and Overcooked! for group sessions. These are the titles to investigate when the goal is a shared activity rather than a solo mobile run. TV availability is title-dependent, and supported games use a mobile device as the controller; the presence of a game in a party guide should not be read as a guarantee that every device combination will support TV play.

Netflix announced FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition on July 27, 2026. The announcement identifies Delphi Interactive as its developer and publisher and describes TV play with a phone controller. Availability can change quickly because this is a newly announced, event-linked title, so confirm that it appears in the live Netflix catalog in your country before organizing around it. A promotional quote from FIFA President Gianni Infantino called it “the beginning of a new era of digital football”; that is an attributed launch statement, not an independent evaluation of the game.

| Play setting | What you need | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Solo mobile | Compatible Android or Apple mobile device, active Netflix membership, internet for download and installation, and free storage | Touch-based mobile play for titles offered in the Netflix catalog |
| Supported TV game | Netflix on a TV, a supported title, and a phone or tablet available to scan the on-screen QR code | The mobile device acts as the controller; not every mobile game is a TV game |
| Party session | A supported TV title and enough phones or tablets for the game’s controller arrangement | Group-oriented play using titles highlighted in Netflix’s party guide |
| Football on TV | Availability of FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition in the current catalog, plus a phone controller | Event-linked availability that should be checked immediately before play |
How to start a Netflix game on a phone or tablet
- Confirm the account and profile. Use an active Netflix membership and a standard profile. Netflix says Kids profiles cannot access Netflix games.
- Check the device baseline. Netflix lists Android 8.0 or later and iOS/iPadOS 15 or later as its general minimums. A particular game may require a newer operating system, additional hardware capability, or another condition.
- Make room for the install. Games are downloaded to the mobile device, so verify available storage before starting. The catalog does not publish one universal storage figure because requirements vary by title.
- Use an internet connection to download and install. Netflix specifically requires internet access for that initial process. Do not assume a title has identical connection behavior after installation unless its own information says so.
- Select a title from Netflix’s games catalog and install it. Read the maturity rating and any game-specific requirement shown with the listing before committing storage.
- Launch from the installed game. The game remains tied to the Netflix membership that provides access. If the title disappears from the catalog later, its availability may change even though it was previously installed.
How Netflix TV games work
Netflix describes a two-device setup for supported TV games. The television displays the game, while a phone or tablet supplies the controls. Netflix Games President Alain Tascan summarized the intended experience in a December 8, 2025 announcement: “Starting today, you can play games on your TV, using your phone as a controller — no setup needed, it’s as easy as streaming your favorite shows.” In practical terms, there is still a pairing action on screen.
- Open a supported game on the TV. TV play is available only for titles that support it; a game’s mobile availability alone is not enough.
- Look for the QR code. Netflix’s TV guide says the television displays a QR code for the pairing process.
- Scan the code with a phone or tablet. Use the mobile device to follow the pairing prompt.
- Use that device as the controller. Once paired, the phone or tablet handles input while the TV shows the game. Keep the device available for the duration of the session.
If a QR code does not appear, first treat that as a compatibility signal: the selected title, TV environment, or current catalog listing may not support TV play. Netflix does not say that every one of its more than 120 mobile games can be moved to a television.

Catalog membership and regional availability can change
The “more than 120” figure describes Netflix’s catalog page dated September 9, 2026. It is not a lifetime guarantee or a promise that every listed title is available in every country. Recheck the live listing for the game, maturity rating, device requirements, and TV support you need.

Kids profiles are excluded
Netflix says Kids profiles cannot access games. If a child needs to play, the account holder must understand Netflix’s profile rules and the maturity rating attached to the title; do not expect the Kids profile itself to expose the catalog.
Previous saves do not transfer into Netflix editions
Netflix states that saved progress from an earlier release of a game cannot be transferred to its Netflix version. If you have played a title elsewhere, plan to begin again rather than assuming that a login or cloud save will carry over.
Game-specific requirements still apply
Android 8.0 or later and iOS/iPadOS 15 or later are Netflix’s stated baselines, not a compatibility guarantee for every title. A game may need a newer operating system, more storage, or another device capability. Read the individual listing when an install is refused or the game does not appear.

No separate controller purchase is established as necessary
For supported TV games, Netflix’s documented controller is a paired phone or tablet. The catalog information does not establish that a dedicated gamepad, physical edition, or other accessory is required, so budget for the membership and compatible devices first.

What to do when a game is missing or will not install
- The games section is not visible: Check that you are not using a Kids profile and that the Netflix membership is active. Then verify whether the title is currently listed in your region.
- The device is rejected: Compare the operating system with Netflix’s Android 8.0 or iOS/iPadOS 15 baseline, then check the title’s own requirements. Meeting the baseline does not override a game-specific restriction.
- The download stops: Confirm internet access and free storage. Netflix requires a connection for downloading and installing, and a large game can fail when the device is nearly full.
- A former save is absent: This is expected when moving from an earlier release to the Netflix edition; Netflix says that saved progress cannot be transferred.
- TV pairing is unavailable: Select a title identified as TV-supported, then look for the QR code on the television. A mobile-only listing will not produce the TV pairing flow.
How to interpret “the best games on Netflix”
There is no single evidence-based ranking in Netflix’s catalog material. It does not provide a shared critic score, member-play leaderboard, download count, or independent test of the titles listed here. A useful choice therefore starts with your situation: action intensity, a peaceful exploration mood, puzzle mechanics, strategic planning, a group in the room, or football on a television.
That approach also keeps expectations accurate. Dead Cells: Netflix Edition is a fit for the catalog’s action description; it is not being declared the universal best game. The same distinction applies to every other example. Choose a category, verify the current listing and requirements, and use the included access model to try the title without an extra game purchase.
Bottom line
Netflix’s games section is worth opening if you already subscribe: more than 120 mobile titles were listed in September 2026, access was included with membership, and Netflix said there were no ads, extra game fees, or in-app purchases. Start with the catalog description that matches your mood, check the device and profile restrictions, and use the QR-code phone-controller flow when a supported title makes sense on your TV.
