Netflix’s Happy Gilmore tie-in is not two separately released games. The playable title is Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem ’98 Demo, a game Netflix says had never been released to the public before it surfaced it for the film campaign. The other “title” is a video game shown inside Happy Gilmore 2—an in-world reference, not a second game to download and play.
What are the two Happy Gilmore titles?
The apparent pair are different things: one is a playable Netflix game, and the other is a fictional game reference within the movie. Netflix’s Easter-egg guide says the in-film reference recreates scenes from the original Happy Gilmore. It does not establish a second separately released playable game.

What’s the Happy Gilmore game about?
Netflix presents Golf Mayhem ’98 Demo as a chaotic golf game built around familiar swing-meter mechanics. Its description includes free-roam fairways, hecklers, boss encounters, and references to characters and scenes from the first film. Netflix specifically names Bob Barker and an alligator among its examples. These are Netflix’s descriptions, not independently verified gameplay findings. The title’s “Demo” label matters: Netflix describes it as a game that had not previously been released to the public, rather than documenting a newly launched commercial console game. The available information does not establish separate editions or a second playable version.

Where can you play Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem ’98 Demo?
Netflix says the demo works on select TVs and web devices in listed countries. Availability is not universal: Netflix notes that device hardware, age, and beta access can affect whether its games appear. Its TV games help page explains the documented TV setup.
On a TV
- Open Netflix on a supported TV and look for the Games row or Games menu.
- Select the game and follow the on-screen instructions to connect a phone or tablet as the controller.
Netflix’s documented TV setup requires a phone or tablet controller; other controllers are not supported in that setup.

On a web device
Netflix lists web devices among the ways to play in supported countries. The exact availability depends on the device and region; check Netflix’s game listing and help information for your setup rather than assuming the title will appear on every account or screen.
Netflix says its games are included with a membership regardless of plan, as stated in its July 25, 2025 game explainer. That describes the membership inclusion, not universal access to every game on every device.

How the game fits the Happy Gilmore 2 campaign
The game was one part of a wider campaign around Happy Gilmore 2. Netflix’s June 26, 2025 partnership announcement named Subway, U.S. Bank, and Callaway.
- Subway: Netflix announced a Happy Gilmore Meal and four limited-edition character cups, scheduled to begin July 10, 2025 at Subway locations nationwide or while supplies lasted. That was a past promotion, not a current offer.
- U.S. Bank: The company sponsored the film’s Champions Tour premiere and appeared in custom campaign spots.
- Callaway: The brand announced limited-edition golf balls and the Odyssey Hockey Stick Putter. The announcement does not establish present-day stock, retail channels, or availability.
Netflix Shop also has a Happy Gilmore 2 collection, with categories including hats, hoodies, mugs, pajamas, and T-shirts. Its inventory and regional selection can change.

What is—and isn’t—known about the games’ reach
The official pages cited here do not report player counts, sales, or audience figures for the demo or its tie-ins. They also do not establish two independently playable Happy Gilmore games. The accurate distinction is one playable Netflix demo and one game reference inside the movie.
