Amazon Games’ official guide documents the event’s 2024 version, including how to fight Baalphazu, turn in Ichor to Salvatore, collect Treat Basket rewards and spend Nightveil Tokens. Those dates and reward rules are historical: Amazon Games has not confirmed in the sources available here whether Nightveil Hallow will run in 2026. Check the official Nightveil Hallow announcement and current game notices for this year’s schedule and mechanics.
Is the New World Halloween event happening in 2026?
That is not confirmed by the available official announcements. Amazon Games announced Nightveil Hallow for October 22 through November 5, 2024, but those dates do not establish a 2026 schedule. In an October 28, 2025 update, the developer said Season 10 and Nighthaven would be New World’s final content release on PC and consoles. That statement concerns new content releases; it does not confirm whether a seasonal event will operate in 2026. Check Amazon Games’ current announcements rather than assuming the event has returned.
How did the Nightveil Hallow event work?
The official 2024 event loop joined four activities: fight Baalphazu, gather Ichor for Salvatore the Mad, look for Treat Baskets in towns while wearing a costume, and earn Nightveil Tokens to spend in the Event Shop. The following mechanics and reward amounts describe the 2024 announcement, not verified current rules.
- Find Baalphazu and join the group fighting the world boss.
- Collect Ichor from the encounter and bring it to Salvatore the Mad at a Cauldron in a town to progress the Nightveil Hallow questline.
- Wear a costume and search town Treat Baskets for rewards.
- Earn Nightveil Tokens through the event activities and spend them in the Event Shop.
Where is Baalphazu, and can lower-level players join?
The 2024 announcement calls Baalphazu a level 66 world boss. The encounter is designed as a large group fight; Amazon Games’ design article says the boss space was made large enough for many players and describes fiery pumpkin heads that players can throw at the boss. The developer said the mechanic was intended to let players across a range of skill and levels contribute, and that Baalphazu was designed so players would not need a specific role or weapon.

The published material does not establish a universal level requirement for participation or guarantee quest credit for every player who joins. If your quest recommends a higher level, treat that as guidance for the encounter’s difficulty, not proof that lower-level players are barred. Join a group, contribute to the fight, and check your quest progress afterward.
What did Baalphazu and Salvatore reward in 2024?
Amazon Games’ 2024 rules gave players up to five armor-piece rewards per day and up to three costume rewards per day for defeating Baalphazu. The boss also dropped Ichor, which Salvatore exchanged for Nightveil Cauldron Caches. These caps are specific to the 2024 event.

- Quest cache: The Nightveil Hallow quest cache contained 5 Nightveil Tokens and 2 random Nightveil Hallow weapon patterns. Completing the quest also unlocked the Nightveil Sentinel section of the Event Shop.
- Nightveil Cauldron Cache: Salvatore exchanged each Ichor for a cache containing 7–13 Nightveil Tokens, a random weapon pattern and one White Gypsum. A coin bag was also included, with a limit of three daily.
How did Treat Baskets work?
In the 2024 event, players searched town Treat Baskets while wearing a costume. The official guide listed these possible rewards:
- A Baalphazu armor piece, with a 10% chance.
- Two Nightveil Tokens, limited to three daily.
- One of four candy flavors.
The guide said daily-limited items reset at 5 a.m. local time. Neither those limits nor the listed rewards should be assumed to apply to a future event unless its rules confirm them.

What could you buy with Nightveil Tokens?
The 2024 Event Shop included event-specific weapon and armor patterns, housing items, helm skins, emotes and other cosmetics. The official announcement does not make that historical inventory a guarantee of what a later shop will offer. In the 2024 loop, completing Salvatore’s quest was useful for both its cache and access to the Nightveil Sentinel shop section; the rest of the event activities supplied additional chances to earn tokens and cosmetics.
Why does the fight use pumpkins?
Amazon Games described Nightveil Hallow as drawing on 1980s horror films, especially creature features with a playful, schlocky tone. In the publisher’s fictional lore, Baalphazu is a dread captain from the Netherworld, a realm ruled by Lord Tenebrous; the name combines ideas associated with Belphegor and Pazuzu. The fiery throwable pumpkin mechanic fits the event’s theatrical style while giving players different ways to contribute to a large encounter.
The developer characterized the fight’s design as “controlled chaos.” An official audio deep dive identifies Molly Scarpine as Baalphazu’s voice and describes unusual sound-design elements, including piano and metal-string effects.
