New World: Aeternum Season 7 was previewed in November 2024 as a January 2025 update. Its announced highlights included a limited-time PvP Seasonal World, three daily solo trials, changes to Mutated Expeditions, eight artifacts, and an Outpost Rush map preview. Season 7 is long past: Amazon Games later named Season 10: Nighthaven the game’s final content release and says the servers will shut down on January 31, 2027.
What Season 7 announced
Amazon Games’ November 25, 2024 preview outlined several planned features. The announcement described what was coming, not a complete list of the season’s final changes or hotfixes.
A limited-time PvP Seasonal World
The first announced Seasonal World was a limited-time server built around always-on PvP. Players could encounter special loot drops on death and unique items, while Amazon Games said rewards and progression would carry over after the season ended. The publisher described Seasonal Worlds as “dynamic, limited-time servers designed to deliver unique gameplay experiences.”
Compared with ordinary world play, the defining difference was the constant PvP exposure and the added risk of losing loot on death. The announcement did not frame the Seasonal World as a permanent replacement for standard worlds.

The planned Unified Mutations changes were intended to remove the need to maintain multiple gear sets for mutations, add matchmaking for M3, and improve rewards. These were the changes highlighted in the preview; it did not provide a full breakdown of every Expedition adjustment.
Three daily Solo Trials
Solo Trials were presented as individual challenges focused on skill and strategy against recognizable bosses. The three announced encounters were:

Outpost Rush map preview
Amazon Games announced a new Outpost Rush map for a preview weekend during Season 7. Outpost Rush is a team PvP mode involving resource gathering, objective capture, and tactical play against the opposing team. The announcement promised a map preview, not a confirmed permanent map rollout.
Artifacts, combat adjustments, and returning events
- Artifacts: Eight new artifacts were announced: seven weapons and one earring accessory.
- Combat: Amazon Games said it intended to reduce PvP time to kill and adjust the blunderbuss and hatchet. The November preview said more details would follow closer to release, so this is not a complete account of the final balance changes.
- Seasonal events: Legacy of Crassus and Rabbit’s Revenge were set to return. Legacy of Crassus was also slated for enhanced rewards beyond level 700; other event specifics were deferred.
What the Living Roadmap did—and did not—confirm
The Season 7 announcement introduced a “Living Roadmap” with distinct statuses, including next-season, in-development, and exploratory. In-development and exploratory ideas were not all commitments for Season 7; exploratory plans could still be advanced or dropped.

Ideas mentioned in those less-certain categories included more types of Seasonal Worlds, a revamped Invasion, additional PvP modes and maps, global storage, and a Barbershop. They should not be treated as Season 7 features solely because they appeared on the roadmap.

The official release archive records Season of Conquerors in January 2025, Season of the Divide in May 2025, and Season of the Banner in July 2025. Season 7 was therefore followed by multiple later seasons. In an October 28, 2025 update, Amazon Games said Season 10: Nighthaven would be the final content release for New World on PC and consoles.
Is New World: Aeternum still available?
The game is no longer available for purchase, but people who bought it previously can continue playing for now. Amazon Games’ January 2026 announcement sets out the service timeline:
- January 15, 2026: The game was delisted and became unavailable for purchase. Previous purchasers can still download and install it again.
- July 20, 2026: In-game purchases, including Marks of Fortune, ended. This cutoff has passed.
- January 31, 2027: Servers are scheduled to shut down permanently, ending access across platforms. Nighthaven was extended until that date.
Amazon Games’ October 2025 statement called Nighthaven the final content release; its January 2026 announcement later confirmed the planned end of service. The publisher’s statements establish the official schedule, not player sentiment or an independent assessment of the announced features.
