Who is on the NHL 25 cover?
Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks and Jack and Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils appeared together on the cover. EA said they were the first siblings to feature together on an EA SPORTS cover. EA’s August 22, 2024 announcement introduced the trio alongside the game’s reveal.

What is ICE-Q in NHL 25?
EA described ICE-Q as a logic-driven animation system designed to respond to events and context during play. Its announcement highlighted three components:
- Next-Gen Vision Control: EA said players could walk the blue line, square up to the puck carrier and remain locked on goal.
- Empowered AI: EA cited a refreshed playbook for smarter team behavior.
- Reactive Actions: EA said these animations were intended to make skaters more responsive in critical situations.
These are EA’s descriptions of the features, not independent measurements or evidence of how well they perform in play. EA Vancouver Senior Game Design Director Mike Inglehart called ICE-Q a “foundational shift” and said its intelligence would give players “complete control of the ice”; that is a publisher-attributed description, not a measured result. The NHL 25 feature page also outlines ICE-Q.

What changed in NHL 25 Franchise Mode?
EA said the Franchise Mode revamp would begin with the Franchise Hub, intended to streamline access to relevant information. The initial announcement did not enumerate a complete set of mode changes; it said EA would share more details ahead of launch. The Hub was also described on EA’s feature page.
What else did EA announce?
The reveal also named skill-based one-timers, World of Chel Live Events, HUT Wildcard Mode, shared XP progression across HUT, the Grudge Match System and SAPIEN Technology for character likenesses. These are features EA announced; the release materials do not provide independently measured performance results.

When did NHL 25 launch, and where is it available?
EA announced an October 4, 2024 launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with EA Vancouver as developer. EA’s current product page says the game is available worldwide and links to the platform stores. That page does not establish current physical-retail stock.
