What kind of game is Ninjin: Clash of Carrots?
You play as Ninjin, a rabbit, or Akai, a ninja fox, moving through side-scrolling stages and fighting waves of enemies. The action feeds an upgrade loop: collect carrots taken by Shogun Moe, then spend them on gear and customization. Nintendo describes the Corgi Store as the place to get equipment, and the Shady Shop as the source for weapons, masks, and other customization items. Steam’s listing identifies Ninjin and Akai as the playable characters.

In a review published on 28 September 2018, Meristation praised the variety of weapons and items, noting that they differ in attack style, speed, and projectile behavior. The review also responded positively to the game’s humor and retro visual presentation.

Repetition and attack readability are the cautions
The same review said that stages can feel repetitive because their structure is similar, and that some attacks are difficult to read precisely. These are one outlet’s observations from 2018, not a claim that every player will have the same experience. They point to the questions worth weighing: whether you enjoy repeated waves and whether quick combat remains satisfying when attack feedback is not always clear.
Can you play co-op?
Yes. Nintendo and Xbox list two-player local and online co-op. Nintendo also says the survival-style “Oni TV Show” mode supports local and online co-op. The PlayStation Store listing specifies two players and requires PlayStation Plus for full-game online multiplayer. Check the listing for your platform and region for any other online-service requirements.

Which platforms is it on?
The official listings located for the game cover Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. These are digital storefront listings; the available evidence here does not establish a physical edition.
The PlayStation Store says the PS4 version is playable on PS5, though some PS4 features may be absent. Nintendo’s UK page gives a 4 September 2018 release date, PEGI 7 rating, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese language options, and a 334.0 MB download size. Those specifications belong to that UK listing; Arc System Works lists additional language options, including Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Store scores are snapshots of customer ratings, not a single critics’ consensus. In the storefront results retrieved on 8 October 2026, Steam showed 92% positive from 320 user reviews, while the US PlayStation Store showed 4.32 out of 5 from 920 ratings. Both figures can change, and they represent different storefront audiences.

- Consider it if: you want fast side-scrolling action, local or online two-player co-op, and a broad selection of weapons and equipment to try.
