At Nintendo’s U.S. suggested prices, the best value depends on which game you want and whether you’ll use the included online membership. The standard Nintendo Switch 2 system is $499.99, effective September 1, 2026. A $499.99 limited-time offer adds one of three selected games, while the Mario Kart World bundle costs $549.99 and includes a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. Nintendo’s stated bundle savings are comparisons at suggested retail prices—not guarantees that a bundle beats today’s price at a particular store.
Current U.S. prices and what each bundle includes
Nintendo of America’s September 2026 announcement lists the standard system at $499.99. That replaces the historical $449.99 U.S. launch MSRP announced in April 2025; use $499.99 as the current reference point, not the launch price. Nintendo’s September 2026 bundle announcement and its April 2025 launch announcement document the change.

The Sports Resort bundle and game are announced to launch October 22, 2026. The Mario Kart World bundle was announced for late September 2026. The Choose Your Game offer is limited-time, available through participating retailers while supplies last, and retailer offer dates vary. Confirm that an offer is available before deciding around it. Nintendo’s bundle announcement and Choose Your Game announcement provide the terms.

You want a game outside the bundle choices
If your must-have game is not Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Pokémon Pokopia or Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a bundle may leave you paying for a game you would not have chosen. Start with the $499.99 system MSRP, then compare the exact game you want at the price and format you can actually buy. The bundle’s advertised savings only matter if its included contents suit you.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Race from one course to another through interconnected paths that span the world
- Traverse mountains, forests, cities, and more—with shifting weather patterns and a day/night cycle
You don’t want Nintendo Switch Online
The Mario Kart World and Sports Resort bundles include 90 days of an Individual Membership, and Nintendo’s stated savings count that membership. If you would not use the service, its inclusion does not have the same practical value to you as it does to someone who would otherwise subscribe. The Mario Kart World bundle announcement says online features require Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account.
A retailer has a lower separate price
The official figures are suggested retail prices, not live transaction prices. Retailer discounts on the console or a separate game can narrow or erase the advertised bundle advantage; bundle stock, seller and offer dates can also vary. Compare the final prices at the store you plan to use rather than assuming Nintendo’s MSRP comparison determines the cheapest checkout.

When a bundle is likely to make sense
You already planned to buy the included game
The Choose Your Game Bundle is the clearest MSRP-based option if you want one of its three games: it is listed at the same $499.99 suggested price as the system alone and adds a download code. Nintendo lists regular game prices of $79.99 for Mario Kart World and $69.99 each for Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia, and says the offer can save up to $29.99 compared with buying the system and selected game separately at suggested retail prices. Those game prices are the amounts in Nintendo’s May 12, 2026 announcement, not a claim about current retailer prices. Availability is limited and actual savings may vary. Nintendo lists the Mario Kart World package at $549.99 and states that it saves $37.98 versus buying its items individually at suggested retail prices. As a reference, Nintendo’s comparison implies a $587.97 total for the included items bought separately at those suggested prices. That is a $37.98 MSRP difference, not a guaranteed saving against a retailer’s live prices. The exact individual component prices are not all printed in the bundle announcement, so the stated savings is the appropriate official comparison rather than reverse-engineering a game or membership price. Nintendo’s bundle announcement gives the comparison.

You want Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
The $529.99 Sports Resort bundle includes the system, a full game download and 90 days of Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. Nintendo says that package saves $27.98 against its individual suggested retail prices. It is relevant if you want that particular game and value the membership; the announced October 22, 2026 launch date means it is not an option before then.

The Mario Kart World and Sports Resort packages include full game downloads. For Nintendo-published digital titles exclusive to Switch 2, Nintendo says a pricing policy beginning in May 2026 sets digital-game MSRPs differently from physical-game MSRPs. A physical copy’s price therefore should not be treated as interchangeable with the digital version in a bundle. Check the exact edition and format when comparing totals. Nintendo Support explains Switch 2 game pricing.
- Use the current baseline: compare against the $499.99 system MSRP effective September 1, 2026, not the superseded 2025 launch MSRP.
- Choose the game first: identify whether you would buy the bundle’s game anyway. For the Choose Your Game offer, check that the offer is still available at a participating retailer.
- Match formats: compare a download with a download, or a physical game with a physical game; Nintendo’s digital-exclusive pricing policy can make those MSRPs different.
- Value the membership honestly: count the 90 days as a benefit only to the extent you expect to use Nintendo Switch Online.
- Check the checkout details: compare live price, stock, seller, format and offer end date at the retailer before purchase. Nintendo’s announcements do not establish which store is cheapest or has stock on a given day.
Bottom line: choose by the contents you actually value
If you want a game in the $499.99 Choose Your Game offer, that package offers the most direct MSRP-based addition for the same suggested price as the bare system, subject to limited availability. The Mario Kart World and Sports Resort bundles can also be worthwhile when you want the included download and will use the membership. If neither game fits, or retailer prices make separate purchases cheaper, buy the system and game separately. The official savings figures are useful baselines; your best deal is the one that matches your game preference, format and actual checkout price.
