The reported post-price-hike Switch 2 low is in Japan, but the available report does not verify the retailer or sale price. Nintendo’s revised MSRP for the Japanese-language, Japan-only model is ¥59,980, effective May 25, 2026; that is the official price to compare against, not a confirmed price for the temporary deal.
What is known about the reported Japan deal?
An October 6, 2026 report describes a new post-price-hike low in Japan. Its available indexed copy does not identify the retailer or state the deal price, so neither detail can be confirmed here. Treat the headline as a report of a Japan-specific low, not enough information to verify a particular listing or calculate its discount.

Nintendo’s official price announcement provides the baseline: the Japanese-language, Japan-only Switch 2’s MSRP rose from ¥49,980 to ¥59,980 on May 25, 2026. The same revision did not change the price of the multilingual version sold through My Nintendo Store.
How do the reported prices in other regions compare?
Nintendo announced separate price revisions for the United States and Europe, effective September 1, 2026. These are official regional prices, not evidence of the Japanese retailer offer:
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
| Region and version | Official price change | Tax treatment | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japan, Japanese-language, Japan-only model | ¥49,980 to ¥59,980 | Not stated in Nintendo’s announcement | MSRP; revised price effective May 25, 2026 |
| United States | $449.99 to $499.99 | Before tax | Revised price effective September 1, 2026 |
| Europe, My Nintendo Store | €469.99 to €499.99 | Tax included | Revised price effective September 1, 2026 |
The amounts and dates above are from Nintendo’s announcement. Because the tax conventions differ, the US and European figures are not directly comparable as checkout totals.
Is the UK £354.99 offer the same deal?
No. TechRadar reported on October 5, 2026 that Amazon UK and several other retailers were selling the console for £354.99 against a UK RRP of £419.99, describing £354.99 as matching the lowest Amazon UK price. That is a separate UK comparison, not proof of the Japanese offer’s price or retailer. Prices, stock and sellers can change; check the live listing and regional model before buying. TechRadar’s UK deal report does not establish a Japan price.

Nintendo separately announced a Japanese-language, Japan-only choose-your-game bundle for November 12, 2026, at ¥63,980. It lets buyers select one downloadable game from Mario Kart World, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. What to check before buying a Japan-model Switch 2
- Confirm the listing’s exact price and seller; the reported Japan offer’s retailer and amount are unverified.
- Check that the console is the Japanese-language, Japan-only model rather than the multilingual version sold through My Nintendo Store.
- Confirm delivery, stock and any other purchase terms on the retailer’s live listing; the available report does not establish them.
- Do not use the UK £354.99 report as a benchmark for the Japan deal: it covers another market, retailer set and regional model.
