Nintendo later announced a CAD $629.99 launch MSRP for the standalone Switch 2, then raised that Canadian MSRP to CAD $679.99 effective September 1, 2026. Those are separate figures from any Costco bundle or live retailer offer.
Was the Costco Canada Switch 2 listing really $499?
MeriStation reported on February 11, 2025, that a provisional Costco Canada listing showed CAD $499.99. The report described the amount as preliminary. The available evidence does not confirm that Costco sold the console at that price, and Nintendo did not announce CAD $499.99 as the Canadian MSRP. Read the February 2025 report.

How to compare Costco listings with Nintendo’s prices
Costco Canada has listed Switch 2 products, including bundles; Nintendo’s retailer directory also lists Costco Wholesale in Canada. That establishes retailer presence, not current stock or a guaranteed price. A surfaced Nintendo Canada page displayed the Mario Kart World bundle at CAD $749.99, but that is a bundle listing, not the standalone MSRP; check the live page for current details.

Before comparing amounts, check whether each is for the standalone console or a bundle, what items are included, whether it is an MSRP or retailer offer, and when the price applies. Costco’s pages show examples of bundle listings, including a system with a 256 GB microSD Express card and Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack; the page itself does not establish a stable price or inventory. View the Costco bundle listing. Costco also lists Switch 2 bundle products on its product comparison page; listing details can change.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the current price and stock on the retailer’s live product page; a listing does not guarantee availability.
- Check whether the price is for the standalone console or a bundle, and identify the included game, storage card, or membership.
- Compare retailer offers against the applicable Canadian MSRP: CAD $679.99 for the standalone system from September 1, 2026.
- Do not treat the reported CAD $499.99 provisional listing as proof of a current discount or a past completed sale.
