Is £354.99 really an all-time low?
Tom’s Hardware called the price an all-time low, while TechRadar described Amazon’s price as its lowest ever there. Those are the publications’ characterizations, not a price-history series or an official Nintendo claim. Nintendo Life had reported Amazon joining Argos and Smyths at £354.99 on 28 September 2026, while noting the deal’s duration was unclear: its UK price report.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
So the evidence supports saying that several outlets reported £354.99 as a notable low; it does not independently verify that no lower UK price has ever been available.
What about the “AI tax”?
The discount reports do not show that AI-related demand or costs caused this console price reduction. “AI tax” is headline framing, not an established explanation for the offer. The reported £65 gap can be described without assigning it a cause.

What to check before placing an order
- Confirm the console itself is listed at £354.99 and that the price remains in your basket at checkout.
- Compare delivery and collection availability for your location, plus any delivery charges.
- Check whether the listing is for the console alone or includes a game or other items.
- Use the retailer’s live page rather than assuming the deal is still active from dated coverage.
For the earlier retailer list, Creative Bloq’s 26 September 2026 report named Very as a match at the time; it is not confirmation of a current offer.
