The January 16, 2025, Switch 2 reveal leak was accurate: Nintendo released a first-look video introducing the hardware on that date. But the video was an initial hardware introduction, not the full product presentation; Nintendo scheduled a deeper Nintendo Direct for April 2.
What did the leak claim?
On January 13, 2025, Nintendo Life reported that Nate the Hate had predicted a January 16 reveal. The report also cited journalist Tom Warren, who said he had heard the reveal would happen that week. At the time, Nintendo had not confirmed a date, and Nintendo Life described the claim as speculative. Nate the Hate expected the video to focus on the console rather than games, while the report cautioned that detail might be incomplete. Read the contemporaneous report.

Did Nintendo reveal Switch 2 on January 16?
