How should buyers read the old preorder price?
If you are comparing a current offer with the preorder announcement, treat $449.99 as the console’s historical April 2025 launch MSRP and $499.99 as the U.S. console MSRP effective September 1, 2026. The older $499.99 bundle price is a separate historical offer that included Mario Kart World. Check retailers directly for their current price and availability; Nintendo’s MSRP does not establish a particular listing’s stock or price.
How game pricing later changed
Nintendo Support says that starting in May 2026, new Nintendo-published digital titles exclusive to Switch 2 will have an MSRP different from their physical versions. Retail partners set their own prices, and game prices may vary. This is later game-pricing context; it does not change what Nintendo announced about the April 2025 preorder date or launch prices. Details are in Nintendo Support’s Switch 2 game pricing information.
