Existing vouchers still work for 12 months from their purchase date, but redemption requires an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership and the account that bought them. Can you still buy Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers?
No. Nintendo of America set the end of sales for January 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The deadline is stated in local time on Nintendo’s regional support pages, so customers outside North America should consult their country’s Nintendo page. Nintendo Support’s discontinuation notice

The offer was sold as a pair of vouchers to customers with an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. Each voucher could be exchanged for a selected digital Nintendo Switch game. Nintendo has ended sales of the voucher sets; the end of sales did not cancel vouchers already purchased.
Do existing vouchers still work, and when do they expire?
Yes. Nintendo says unused vouchers remain valid for 12 months from the purchase date (365 days, according to its North American FAQ). Nintendo’s example is that a voucher bought on January 30, 2026, remains valid until January 30, 2027. What you need to redeem a voucher
- An active, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership: A lapsed membership does not pause or extend the voucher’s expiry. If your membership has ended, start a paid membership before the voucher expires.
- The purchasing Nintendo Account: Vouchers are account-bound. They cannot be gifted for another account to redeem.
- An eligible game and platform: Vouchers redeem selected digital Nintendo Switch games, not Nintendo Switch 2 games. North American vouchers are limited to eligible titles in the region where they were purchased.

Can the eligible game list still change?
Yes. Nintendo UK says additional Nintendo-published Nintendo Switch games may be added to the eligible list after voucher sales end, usually when pre-orders begin in the eShop. The list did not necessarily freeze on January 30, 2026. Check your regional eShop catalogue before deciding which game to redeem.

Can you get a refund for an unused voucher?
Do not count on one. Nintendo of America says vouchers generally cannot be refunded or exchanged, except where Nintendo authorizes an exception or applicable law requires it. For a specific purchase, check the terms and contact Nintendo Support in your region.
