Nioh 3 character creation codes let you import community-made character designs, but the code must match your platform. Use PS5 codes on PS5 and Steam codes on Steam, then import them through the character creator or appearance editor.
Nioh 3 character creation codes are shareable appearance settings that let you recreate another player’s character design. They are not universal cheat codes, unlock codes, or official character presets. A code must match the version of the game that created it—use a PS5 code on PS5 and a Steam code on Steam unless a current source or an in-game test confirms compatibility.

This guide covers what the codes do, where to find them, how to import one, and what to check when an import fails. The code examples circulating online are community-made recreations, including designs inspired by characters such as Ciri, 2B, Venom Snake, and Joker; they are not official licenses or guaranteed presets.

What are Nioh 3 character creation codes?
A character creation code is a compact representation of appearance settings from Nioh 3’s character editor. Importing one can reproduce much of another player’s design without manually adjusting every slider.
Nioh 3’s editor supports detailed changes to physique, facial features, voice, and other appearance options. It also supports separate appearances for the game’s Samurai and Ninja styles, so an imported design may not look identical in every style if the creator configured those appearances differently.
The phrase “character creation codes” is sometimes used for other games, but this guide is specifically about Nioh 3. Do not mix these codes with codes for Nioh 2, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Monster Hunter Wilds, Where Winds Meet, or another character creator.

Platform labeling should come before any code list. Community guides commonly separate Nioh 3 entries into PS5 and PC/Steam sections, and examples may use different code prefixes. The safest rule is:
| Your copy of Nioh 3 | Use this type of code | Compatibility warning |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | A code listed as PS5 | Do not assume a Steam code will import. |
| Steam | A code listed as PC or Steam | Do not assume a PS5 code will import. |
Nioh 3 is listed for PlayStation 5 and Steam, and the official platform information treats the platforms separately. Cross-platform code compatibility should therefore be considered unverified, not assumed. If a post does not identify its platform, ask the creator or find a clearly labeled alternative.

How to import a character creation code
The practical process is the same whether you are creating your character at the beginning of a new game or using a later appearance-editing feature, although the exact menu wording can vary by interface and game build.
- Open the character creator. Start character creation when beginning a new game, or open the appearance editor when that feature is available in your current progression.
- Open the Options tab. Look for the code-management, code-input, or similarly named option.
- Choose the input or import command. Enter the complete code exactly as it was published. On Steam, a later update added a function for copying Character Creation Codes to the clipboard, which can reduce transcription mistakes when the code is available in copyable text.
- Confirm the import. Wait for the appearance data to load rather than changing sliders while the import is processing.
- Inspect the result. Check the face, body, hair, voice, and both Samurai and Ninja appearances if the editor presents them separately.
- Save the appearance. If the result is correct, confirm the appearance in the editor. If the design looks wrong or incomplete, do not overwrite a design you want to keep until you have diagnosed the problem.
The initial creator and later appearance editor may not use identical labels or place the command in exactly the same location. If you cannot find the option, check the editor’s Options tab first, then confirm that you are in the appearance editor rather than a general gameplay or equipment menu.
Where to find Nioh 3 codes
Community code libraries
Dedicated Nioh 3 code pages and community libraries are usually the fastest way to browse designs. Prefer pages that show the design name, platform, code, and date of the submission. A page that separates PS5 and Steam entries is more useful than an undifferentiated list.
Reddit character-sharing communities
Communities such as r/Glamurai and related Nioh character-sharing threads are useful for discovering designs and asking for a missing platform label or updated code. Posts may include slider screenshots instead of a code, which can help rebuild a design if the code is unavailable.
Gaming-guide roundups
Roundups can be convenient for browsing recognizable recreations, but they are discovery sources rather than proof that every entry still works. Check the platform label, publication date, comments, and any update notes before spending time troubleshooting a code.

In-game sharing features
If your current build offers an appearance-sharing or encountered-player feature, it may let you reuse another player’s design without manually copying a long string. Availability and menu placement should be checked in the current build; do not assume that a feature described in an older guide is still exposed in the same way.
Why this guide does not print a list of “working” codes
A character code can become unusable because of a typo, a deleted community post, platform restrictions, or changes introduced by an update. Without current, direct verification of each individual string, calling a code “working” would be misleading.
When evaluating a code list, use precise labels such as:
- Listed for PS5: the source identifies the code as a PS5 code, but that does not prove it was tested recently.
- Listed for Steam: the source identifies the code as a PC or Steam code, but the design may still have been removed or mistyped.
- Reported by the community: players have shared or discussed it, but it has not been independently verified here.
- Recently tested: use this only when the tester, platform, game build, and test date are documented.
For the same reason, a celebrity-inspired design should be described as a player-made recreation, not as an official version of that character.
Troubleshooting failed imports
The game rejects the code immediately
- Confirm that the code is for your platform. A PS5 code and a Steam code may not be interchangeable.
- Copy the entire string again, including every letter, number, hyphen, and other character.
- Remove accidental spaces or line breaks added when copying from a webpage or social post.
- Check whether the source accidentally combined the code with a label, punctuation, or formatting character.
- Try a different code from the same platform. If one known-good community entry imports and the other does not, the problem is probably the individual code rather than the editor.
The code imports, but the character looks different
- Inspect the design under the correct Samurai or Ninja appearance. Nioh 3 can use separate appearances for those styles.
- Check lighting, camera distance, facial expression, hair, and equipment before assuming the sliders failed.
- Compare the imported result with the creator’s screenshots. A thumbnail or edited screenshot may not show the appearance accurately in the editor.
- Remember that an import reproduces appearance settings, not necessarily the creator’s equipment, progression, build, or gameplay choices.
The code used to work but no longer does
- Look for a newer post or re-upload from the original creator.
- Check whether the design was removed from the community page or sharing service.
- Review the game’s update history. Official patches have included fixes for character-creation behavior such as appearance rendering and eyebrow symmetry, and later updates have changed code-handling convenience on Steam.
- Rebuild the design manually from slider screenshots if the original code is unavailable.
I cannot find the code option
Make sure you have opened character creation or the appearance editor, then check its Options tab. The command may not appear in the same place during initial creation and later editing. If the feature is still absent, update the game and consult instructions that match your platform and build rather than following a guide for a different Nioh title.

What you need to use these codes
You need Nioh 3 on a supported platform, access to the character creator or appearance editor, and a code made for that platform. If you are buying the game specifically to use these designs, the Nioh 3 for PS5 physical edition is the relevant console version; importing a code does not require a special controller, accessory, subscription, or premium edition.
A Steam copy and a PS5 copy both have the character-creation feature, but a code found online should still be matched to the platform on which it was created. A physical or collector-oriented edition may change packaging or included extras, not the basic code-import process. Availability and pricing for premium editions can change, so verify current retailer information before buying.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Character creation is still being updated
Nioh 3’s official update history includes fixes affecting character creation and appearance rendering. It also documents a Steam function for copying Character Creation Codes to the clipboard. Those changes are useful reminders that menu behavior and the appearance of an imported design can change after a patch.
The official “My Takechiyo” character-design campaign is another indication that appearance customization is an actively supported part of the game. Winning community designs were announced for inclusion as appearance templates in a future update, showing that official templates and player-created designs can coexist. These templates should not be confused with community codes unless the game or publisher explicitly identifies them as such.

- Is it explicitly labeled PS5 or Steam/PC?
- Is it for Nioh 3, rather than another Koei Tecmo or action RPG character creator?
- Was the code copied without added spaces, punctuation, or line breaks?
- Does the source show a date, screenshots, or recent comments?
- Does the design include separate Samurai and Ninja appearances?
- Has the code actually been tested on the stated platform and a current build?
- Is the design clearly identified as community-created rather than official?
For readers compiling their own list, record the design name, platform, source, date checked, and result of the import. That simple record prevents an old or broken code from being presented as a current recommendation.
Frequently Asked Questions

Do PS5 and Steam character codes work together?
Use a code specifically labeled for your platform. PS5 and Steam codes should not be treated as interchangeable unless a current source or an in-game test confirms that they work across platforms.
How do I enter a character creation code in Nioh 3?
Open character creation or the appearance editor, go to the Options tab, choose the code-input or code-management command, enter or paste the code, confirm the import, inspect the result, and save it.
Why does my Nioh 3 character code not work?
Check the platform label first, then recopy the complete string without spaces or line breaks. The code may also have been mistyped, removed, or affected by a game update. Try another recently listed code for the same platform.
The Bottom Line
Nioh 3 character creation codes import community-made appearance settings, but platform matching is the essential rule: use PS5 codes on PS5 and Steam codes on Steam. Import through the character creator or appearance editor’s Options tab, verify the result for both styles, and treat every community code as unconfirmed until it has been checked on the current build.
