Can you switch styles during a fight?
Yes. You can switch between Samurai and Ninja instantly during combat, or continue using just one style. Switching is optional, so players can choose whether to adapt their approach from encounter to encounter or take on the challenge with a preferred style.

Where does Nioh 3 take place?
The story follows Tokugawa Takechiyo, who is poised to become shogun, and his conflict with his younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu. KOEI TECMO’s launch announcement describes a journey across eras and locations: Edo Castle, Totomi during the Warring States period, Heian-era Kyoto, and Bakumatsu.
The game uses an open-field structure. The publisher describes exploration, villages, yokai encounters, and the Crucible as part of the experience.

Platforms and release
Nioh 3 is available for PS5 and Windows PC via Steam. The official release date was February 6, 2026, as listed by KOEI TECMO America and confirmed in its launch announcement.
Co-op and cross-play
The official game page lists Summon Visitor and Expeditions as multiplayer features. KOEI TECMO’s launch announcement says the demo supported online multiplayer for up to three players and explicitly notes that cross-play is not supported. The announcement’s player-count detail is about the demo; it should not be read as a confirmed limit for every multiplayer mode in the released game.

Editions and physical extras
The US PlayStation Store lists Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions, as well as add-ons. Separately, KOEI TECMO’s launch announcement describes a physical SteelBook Launch Edition and a PS5 TREASURE BOX offered through the NIS America Store. The TREASURE BOX includes the game, a Scampuss keychain, desk pad, artbook, and soundtrack CD.
