It is the game’s New Game Plus journey, where Divine equipment becomes a new gear target. Crucibles, meanwhile, are dangerous combat zones with their own travel and cleansing rules. The available sources do not establish a complete, verified list of Crucible locations, so use the in-game map to find specific destinations.
How to unlock Shogun’s Journey
Two guides describe Shogun’s Journey as an endgame option unlocked by completing the main story. Nerd’s Chalk says to finish missions across the three eras and defeat the final boss, after which the map lets you select Shogun’s Journey. Nioh3.net describes completing the final boss in Rokuhara, watching the ending and credits, then choosing the new Shogun’s Journey tab.

These are secondary guides; the official manual pages consulted explain gameplay systems, not the precise unlock sequence. After the ending, check the map or region selection screen for the Shogun’s Journey option. Menu wording and prompts may vary by game version.
What carries over—and what resets
Both guides report that much of the player’s first-run progression carries over, while story progression and activities reset. Nerd’s Chalk specifically says Lesser Crucibles, Crucible Wraiths, and enemy bases can be cleared again. Nioh3.net provides a more extensive carryover breakdown, but the official manual sources reviewed do not corroborate every item in that list; treat it as guide-reported detail rather than a complete official rule.

What Divine gear is, and how to farm it
The consulted guides describe Divine as a green-rarity equipment tier introduced in Shogun’s Journey. Nerd’s Chalk says Divine items can have four special effects and random Grace bonuses. These are secondary-source descriptions; the official manual pages available here do not verify gear effects, drop rates, or equipment-level limits.
For repeatable gear runs, the guides point to mission drops and endgame activities such as Crucibles and enemy bases. They do not establish a definitive best farm or publish verified drop-rate and run-time comparisons. Choose an activity based on what you need and how efficiently you can clear it:
- Target reward: Choose a mission or activity that offers the kind of reward you want—equipment, soul cores, materials, or progression.
- Enemies per run: More enemies may mean more opportunities for rewards, but only if the route remains manageable.
- Travel and reset: Consider the distance from a shrine or Bodhisattva Statue and what is required to repeat the activity.
- Clear reliability: A run you can finish consistently is generally more practical than a tougher route you often fail.
Nioh3.net also discusses restoring selected content with Sands of Recollection, but the available official manual sources do not establish that system’s detailed rules. Check the current in-game description before spending a resource.

How Crucibles work
The Nioh 3 Official Web Manual describes a Crucible as a domain where yokai have the advantage. Yokai attacks are strengthened there, including attacks from yokai summoned with Summoning Seals.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteLife Corrosion and Jizo blessings
Taking damage from enemies in a Crucible reduces maximum Life through Life Corrosion. The manual says that defeating enemies, dealing damage, and recovering graves can restore some of the depleted maximum Life. Six Jizo blessings can reduce Life Corrosion.
Statues, fast travel, and Crucible spikes
Bodhisattva Statues are “the Crucible’s equivalent of a shrine,” according to the official manual. Fast travel within a Crucible is restricted to areas near these statues. Outside Crucibles, the exploration manual says you can fast travel to unlocked shrines; clearing enemy bases can unlock shrines, chests, and other rewards. See the official exploration manual for the general map rules.

Crucible spikes can appear both inside and outside Crucibles. Destroying one increases maximum Spirit Force and improves Guardian Spirit Attack and its special effects. In Lesser Crucibles, destroying spikes may also increase floating Amrita and unlock Spirit Veins.
Crucible weapons can deal substantial damage, but taking damage while wielding one causes Life Corrosion. The manual says that reaching maximum familiarity unlocks the weapon’s Crucible Art for later assignment.
How to cleanse a Crucible or Lesser Crucible
The official manual distinguishes full Crucibles from Lesser Crucibles:
Rank #4
- Durable
- Flexible design
- robustness
- Full Crucible: Defeat the innermost boss, then destroy the spike powering the area to cleanse it.
- Lesser Crucible: Fight through its enemy waves; there is no boss. Destroy its spike to cleanse it.
Lesser Crucibles do not reappear simply by praying at a shrine. Do not assume a standard shrine reset will make one available again.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where to find Crucibles
The available guides and official manual pages do not provide a complete named location list organized by era and region. Nerd’s Chalk says enhanced bases and Crucibles are scattered across eras and often near previously discovered shrines, but that description is not specific enough to identify every destination.
Use the in-game map to locate available Crucible markers and confirm the destination in its own era and region. The map is the reliable place to check what is currently available; proximity to a shrine is not enough to infer an exact location. For a location-by-location route, each entry needs to be verified against the map, including its era, region, nearest shrine or statue, activity type, and availability in Shogun’s Journey.

The two consulted guides give conflicting Shogun’s Journey equipment figures: Nerd’s Chalk lists an equipment cap of 170, while Nioh3.net reports a range of 150–200+ and a level cap of 200. The official manual pages reviewed do not resolve the discrepancy. Because of that conflict, those numbers should not be treated as confirmed current limits; check the equipment and journey details shown in your game.
