Spare Docent if you also want the optional Shah’s Stash lead; collecting Shah’s Mate from that stash triggers a Bloodsucker ambush.
Start the mission with Huron at Slag Heap
In the Garbage region, speak with Huron at the Slag Heap settlement and ask about the missing shipment or available work. He explains that a courier shipment meant for him has disappeared. Some walkthroughs name Boozer as the food trader who gives the job, but route guides identify Huron as the contact; the practical starting point is Huron and the missing-shipment dialogue.
Search the courier cabin
- Follow the waypoint to the cabin where the couriers were due to meet. The main door is locked, and the windows are not an entry route.
- Go around to the red cargo containers and break the boxes blocking the way through them.
- Climb through the containers, then use the excavator arm that has punched through the cabin roof to get inside.
- Search the Brood Bandit bodies. Their PDA clue says the original group was ambushed and points toward another bandit group with the shipment.
Get into the Plant Boiler Station
Follow the updated waypoint to the Plant Boiler Station. Bandits guard the area and the building, including a rooftop guard, so deal with nearby enemies before moving through the upper route. The shipment is behind a door that cannot be opened from outside.
- Use the ladder to reach the roof or upper walkway.
- Find the opening that leads inside and drop down into the shipment room.
- Take the shipment and speak with Docent, who is in the room.
Decide whether to spare Docent
| Choice | What it means |
|---|---|
| Spare Docent and hear his offer | He explains the dispute over the courier job and gives the location of Shah’s Stash. You can still take the shipment and finish the mission. |
| Kill Docent | You can still recover the shipment, but may lose access to the optional stash lead. The walkthroughs identify no mission benefit that outweighs losing that lead. |
If you want all available rewards, let Docent live, hear him out, take the shipment, and return it to Huron.

Optional: find Shah’s Mate
Docent’s lead points to a stash northwest of Slag Heap, toward the Poisonous Hole area. Look for a dark archway beneath a train track; another route description identifies the spot as a corpse-filled tunnel. Search the stash container or satchel for Shah’s Mate, a unique SMG.
Picking up the weapon triggers a Bloodsucker attack. A shotgun can help you fight it; if you want to conserve ammunition or have finished exploring, use the terrain to disengage or retreat.

Go back to Slag Heap and hand the shipment to Huron to complete the mission. Published walkthroughs disagree on the Coupon reward: Prima Games reports 2,159 Coupons, while Gamer Guides reports 1,600. The available reporting does not establish which figure is correct, so treat the exact payout as uncertain.
