Can your iPhone run No Man’s Sky?
Hello Games says the game is playable on iPhone 11 and later, and on third-generation iPad Air and later. Apple’s listing specifies iOS 26 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later; its compatibility list includes iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and iPhone 11 models, among others. Those are not identical descriptions of eligibility, so check your exact model and current operating system in the live App Store listing rather than relying on a broad model cutoff.

Apple lists the app at 3.8 GB. The listing says players can try the beginning for free, then make a one-time purchase to unlock the full game. It does not establish a price here; check the storefront in your region for the current amount. Check Apple’s current compatibility and purchase information.
Does No Man’s Sky on iPhone have multiplayer?
No. Hello Games says multiplayer is not supported in the iOS version. It also says Planetary Settlements are supported on iPhone 15 Pro and above. Keep original Switch and Switch 2 editions separate

Which version performs better?
There is not enough evidence to say. The iPhone version is still upcoming as of October 13, 2026, and the official sources cited here do not provide matched iPhone-versus-Switch measurements for frame rate, resolution, loading times, heat, or battery use. A fair comparison needs post-release testing on identified iPhone and Switch hardware, with software versions and test conditions specified. Until then, claims that one runs faster, looks sharper, loads quicker, or lasts longer on a charge would be speculation.

The iPhone version is a digital App Store release, with a free beginning and a one-time purchase to unlock the full game, according to Apple. Hello Games says the Switch Edition is available digitally and as a physical edition worldwide through retail partners Bandai Namco.
