Norco makes bikes for very different kinds of riding, so a review of one model cannot tell you whether every Norco is right for you. The available Norco review roundup focuses on the Revolver, a cross-country bike. Reviewers featured there praise its quick handling, climbing efficiency and descending ability, but those are impressions of that model—not a brand-wide verdict.
What do the Norco reviews actually cover?
Norco’s catalogue includes bikes across distinct categories. Its product descriptions position the Indie for city riding and commuting, the Bigfoot as a fat bike, the Storm as a cross-country hardtail, the Torrent as an all-mountain hardtail, and the Shore for downhill and park riding. These descriptions indicate different intended uses; they are not independent comparative tests. Norco’s bike catalogue is the place to identify the category and model you are considering.
The surfaced official review roundup collects excerpts about the Revolver from outside reviewers. Norco selects and publishes the excerpts, so the page is useful for seeing attributed ride impressions, but it is not a complete or neutral survey of all independent reviews or owner experiences. Norco’s Revolver review roundup should be read as model-specific material.
What reviewers say about the Revolver
The excerpts present the Revolver as a bike that aims to combine cross-country efficiency with more playful and capable trail behavior. Each comment below is an individual reviewer’s impression, not a standardized test or a claim about all Norco bikes.
#1 Best Overall
- A trail-taming powerhouse – The Spectral 27.5 AL 5 is the ultimate bike for those who crave agility and power, designed to charge through technical trails and still feel playful when the terrain flattens out.
- Durable and lightweight alloy frame – The high-performance aluminum frame is built for durability while maintaining a responsive, nimble feel on the trail.
- Fox suspension system – Equipped with a 160mm FOX 36 Rhythm Grip fork and FOX X Performance 2-Position shock, offering plush, controlled travel that absorbs bumps and provides precision handling.
- Shimano drivetrain – With a 12-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain, this bike ensures smooth and efficient shifting across the entire range, whether you're tackling steep climbs or fast descents.
- Versatile and ready for adventure – Tubeless-ready wheels, powerful Shimano M6120 brakes, and a dropper seatpost bring confidence and comfort to every ride.
- Suspension support and speed: Mike Kazimer, editor-in-chief at Pinkbike, wrote that the Revolver’s travel was “very well managed,” and that he kept it in the middle compression setting on most rides for support on flatter trail without harshness.
- Fast direction changes: Kazimer also praised the short chainstays, saying the bike moved quickly through linked tight turns.
- Climbing and descending balance: Professional mountain biker Remi Gauvin described the new Revolver as a balance between down-country and cross-country riding, calling it a nimble climber and fun to descend. He specifically cited details including titanium hardware and a low front end.
- Confidence on technical descents: Andrew Leitch, technical editor at The Loam Wolf, said the bike exceeded his expectations on descents, including terrain he described as less typical of an XC bike. He noted that its head angle was steep relative to the test bikes he usually rode, while also crediting it with charging through tight switchbacks.
- Versatility: Ron Koch, technical editor at Mountain Bike Action, said the Revolver’s combination of climbing and descending ability could make a rider reconsider what kind of bike to ride.
- Revolver 120 character: Simon Stewart of Blister Mag described the Revolver 120 as an efficient climber with a “poppy and energetic” feel on descents, while placing it in a growing class of modern flex-stay World Cup cross-country bikes.
Taken together, these excerpts suggest why a rider looking for a fast XC-oriented bike with some trail versatility might want to investigate the Revolver. They do not establish how it compares in every build, model year, terrain or rider setup.
How to judge whether a Norco is right for you
Start with the exact bike rather than the brand name. A commuter, fat bike, hardtail, all-mountain bike and downhill bike answer different needs; a positive review in one category says little about another.

- Match the intended riding: Identify the terrain and use you care about—commuting, cross-country riding, general trail use, or downhill and park riding—and compare bikes built for that purpose.
- Pin down the model year and build: Confirm the exact year, frame and suspension category, and component specification. Equipment can vary among builds and years, so don’t assume a review of one configuration describes another.
- Check fit using the model’s chart: Norco says its adult bikes use both numerical and T-shirt sizing systems. Use the size chart on the product page for the particular model rather than treating a size label as interchangeable across the range. See Norco’s sizing information and the chart linked from the bike’s own page.
- Compare like with like: For alternatives, line up intended terrain, frame and suspension type, model year, component build, wheel and tire setup where relevant, fit, local price and availability. For review evidence, consider who tested the bike, for how long, and under what conditions.
- Confirm local details: Price, stock, specifications and warranty coverage may depend on the exact model year and market. Verify them for the bike offered where you live before making a purchase decision.
What these reviews cannot establish
The selected Revolver excerpts do not establish a representative satisfaction rating for Norco owners, nor do they support a single verdict on Norco’s full range. Individual customer-review pages likewise cannot be treated as representative survey results. If you are considering another model, seek reviews of that exact bike and year, then compare its specification and fit with your needs.
Documentation for a particular bike also has narrow scope. For example, Norco’s MY24 Range VLT support document concerns that model and model year; it should not be generalized to the entire catalogue. A review of a modified test bike should not be read as a report on its stock specification.
