In League of Legends Clash, the regular option is called a Basic Ticket, and the upgraded option is a Premium Ticket. Both get your player into the tournament. The only difference, in Riot Games Support’s words, is the prize pool you are playing for: Premium upgrades your personal rewards and costs more RP. Basic is the default entry, and Premium is an optional reward upgrade.
What each ticket gets you
Every Clash team member needs at least one ticket to enter. A Basic Ticket is enough to take part in the tournament. A Premium Ticket does not give you a better entry; it changes the reward table your player works from. Riot’s current FAQ states it directly: “The only difference between Basic and Premium Tickets is the prize pool you’re playing for.”
Premium does not change anything else about your team. Team tier, opponent matching and your chance of winning are separate tournament mechanics, and a Premium Ticket does not affect them. If a teammate chooses Premium and you choose Basic, the two of you still compete in the same tournament under the same rules.

Reward tables in Riot’s current FAQ
Rewards depend on how many matches your team wins and loses across the tournament. The tables below come from Riot Games Support’s Clash FAQ, which was displayed as updated May 7, 2026. Item wording follows that page and can change, so compare them with the in-client preview for your event.

These are in-game cosmetics and currency, not cash. Riot’s FAQ does not assign a money value to either table, and it does not promise that every player will receive the same collection. The useful comparison is whether the Premium table is worth the extra RP for the player who is buying it.
Who chooses, and when the choice locks
Ticket selection is personal. Each teammate picks their own entry, and that player’s rewards follow their selection. Teammates can therefore end up with different tickets on the same roster.

The choice becomes fixed once the full team locks in before a match. After that point, a player’s ticket cannot be changed for that tournament. Check your ticket before your team locks in, not after.
How to get a ticket
Riot’s FAQ lists three routes:
- Clash missions: completing a Clash mission grants a ticket every two tournaments, once per theme.
- A teammate: a teammate may offer a ticket to anyone on their roster.
- The store: a Basic Ticket can be bought with Blue Essence or RP, and a Premium Ticket costs more RP.
The FAQ does not give an exact current price for either ticket, and the support page does not list prices by region. Check the store listing in your client for the current cost.

Deciding between Basic and Premium
- Choose Basic if entry is your only goal, or if the Premium reward table does not justify the extra RP to you.
- Consider Premium only after you have reviewed the reward table for your current event and decided its additional items are worth the higher RP cost.
- Remember the choice is individual. Your teammates do not have to match your ticket, and you do not have to match theirs.
Riot does not publish a cash-value calculation for either ticket. The expected value depends on your preferences and on how many matches your team wins.
How rewards have changed over time
Clash reward structures have been revised before. In a June 8, 2023 update from Riot’s Progression Team, Riot said Clash Capsule and Orb rewards would be distributed based on total wins across the tournament rather than placement. The update states: “To help, we’re changing Clash Capsule and Orb rewards to be distributed based on total wins throughout the tournament and not placement.” Under that change, a team that lost an early match could still improve its rewards by winning the remaining games. The 2023 update’s reward table is also different from the current FAQ table above, so treat it as a record of the change, not as current contents.

Special events can add their own loot. Riot’s October 1, 2020 Worlds Clash announcement listed a limited-time Championship skin shard for 8th–15th place and a permanent Championship skin shard for 1st–7th place, alongside the regular Premium rewards. It also said every ticket type received a Worlds Orb for first place. Those were details of that event only. They are not a guarantee that a current Clash tournament will include similar items.

Riot’s FAQ says that dates and details can change, and that the in-client information is the most accurate source. Before your team locks in, open the Clash ticket and rewards preview in your client and compare the Basic and Premium tables for the event you are entering.

This article does not give a tournament schedule. Riot’s FAQ states that Season 3 dates will be announced later, so check the client for current dates.
Riot has not published an exact current ticket price in the material reviewed for this article, so treat any historic price you find elsewhere as out of date.
Ticket choice is a reward decision, not a competitive one. Pick the ticket that matches what you want to earn, and do it before your team locks in.
Riot’s current FAQ attributes this information to Riot Games Support, with no individual speaker named. The 2023 change is attributed to Riot Games’ Progression Team, and the 2020 event details are from Riot Games’ announcement of that year.
