Nvidia added S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition to GeForce NOW in its November 21, 2024 update. The announcement is a historical availability update, not a new August 2026 addition. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 became available alongside its November 20, 2024 launch, while the two Bethesda RPGs expanded the service’s catalog of older Xbox Game Studios titles.
What Nvidia added to GeForce NOW
Nvidia’s November 21, 2024 GFN Thursday update added five games:

Nvidia said the update brought the GeForce NOW library to more than 2,000 supported titles at the time. The relevant announcement is available on Nvidia’s blog.
Supported storefronts and subscriptions
GeForce NOW streams supported PC games from connected storefronts and subscriptions; a membership does not automatically include every game in the catalog. You generally need to own the title through the supported store shown in the GeForce NOW listing or have access through a compatible subscription such as PC Game Pass.

Here, “Xbox” should not automatically be read as Xbox Cloud Gaming. The listing refers to the supported Xbox/Microsoft PC ecosystem and associated entitlements available through GeForce NOW. Store support can vary by region and can change, so check the current game listing and its store icon before buying a copy.
When did each game become available?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 launched on November 20, 2024, on Steam and Xbox and through PC Game Pass. Nvidia announced its GeForce NOW availability the following day. Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition were listed as available in that same November 21 update.
The two Bethesda entries are the original Game of the Year Edition releases, not modern remakes. Fallout 3 GOTY includes the base game and its major downloadable content, while Oblivion GOTY is the classic fantasy RPG package.

Why S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a notable cloud addition
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a demanding open-world first-person shooter set in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. It combines exploration, gunfights, survival systems, anomalies, mutants and branching choices across a seamless world that Nvidia described as covering 64 square kilometres.
That makes GeForce NOW especially relevant to players whose laptops or desktops cannot run the game comfortably. Nvidia’s separate PC technology coverage highlighted DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution, plus Nvidia Reflex on compatible local GeForce hardware. Those claims describe Nvidia’s game and GPU technology support; they should not be treated as a guarantee that every GeForce NOW tier delivers identical settings, frame rates or latency.
Cloud streaming can remove the need for a powerful local gaming PC, but it does not remove the need for a good connection. A high-latency route or unstable Wi-Fi can make aiming and movement feel worse even in a primarily single-player game.

Why the Bethesda classics still matter
Fallout 3 and Oblivion are far less demanding than S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, so their main cloud benefit is convenience rather than replacing expensive hardware. Streaming lets players access large single-player RPGs on devices such as a Mac, Chromebook, low-power laptop, supported handheld or TV without a local installation.

What you need to play
- A GeForce NOW account and suitable membership: Free and paid options are available, with capabilities varying by tier.
- A game entitlement: Own the title through the supported Steam, Epic Games Store or Xbox/Microsoft path, or use a compatible PC Game Pass entitlement.
- The matching account: Connect the same store or Microsoft account that owns the game or holds the subscription.
- A supported device and app or browser: Device support and available features depend on Nvidia’s current requirements.
- A stable network: Nvidia recommends wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and latency below 80 ms to a GeForce NOW data center.
Nvidia’s current system requirements list at least 15 Mbps for HD streaming up to 60 frames per second, 25 Mbps for 1080p/60, 35 Mbps for QHD/120 in supported configurations and 45 Mbps for 4K/120. These are requirements and targets, not guarantees: congestion, routing, Wi-Fi interference, data caps, display support and server conditions can still affect the result.

Which GeForce NOW plan makes sense?
Plan names, prices and capabilities can change. The following were US signals displayed in Nvidia’s marketplace during August 2026:

The advertised resolution and frame-rate ceilings are service capabilities, not promises that a particular game will render at 5K/360 FPS. Game settings, cloud hardware, server location and network conditions remain important.
The free tier is useful for testing whether your connection works, although ads and lower limits may make it less appealing for regular play. Performance is the practical middle option for many 1440p/60 users. Ultimate is aimed at higher-end displays and demanding games, but its cost is harder to justify if you mainly want to play older Bethesda RPGs. A day pass can be useful for testing latency before committing, but is poor value for sustained use.

Common problems and fixes
The game does not appear
- Search for the exact title and edition, including “Game of the Year Edition.”
- Check which store icon appears in the current GeForce NOW catalog.
- Connect the matching Steam, Epic or Microsoft account.
- Confirm that the game is owned on that account or included in the relevant subscription.
- Check regional availability before buying another copy.
Do not assume that a purchase on one storefront grants ownership on another. Confirm the supported store path first.
The PC Game Pass version will not launch
Nvidia listed PC Game Pass availability in the original 2024 announcement, but subscription catalogs and regional licensing can change. Check that you have PC Game Pass rather than only console Game Pass, and verify that the Microsoft account linked to GeForce NOW is the one holding the subscription. The title may also have moved in or out of the PC catalog or require an additional storefront authorization.
The stream stutters or looks blurry
- Prefer Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Stop large downloads and uploads on the same network.
- Test at the resolution and frame rate you actually plan to use.
- Lower stream resolution or frame rate if the connection is unstable.
- Check latency to the nearest GeForce NOW data center.
Nvidia may adjust resolution or bitrate based on device, provider, location, bandwidth and service conditions. Cloud gaming also adds encoding and network delay, so local play remains preferable for the lowest possible input latency.
Can saves transfer between versions?
Do not assume that saves transfer automatically between Steam, Xbox, PC Game Pass and other versions. Cross-save and cloud-save behavior depends on the game and platform accounts. Using one storefront path consistently and confirming synchronization before switching versions is the safest approach.
Is this still a current addition in 2026?
Yes as a catalog-history fact, but not as a new August 2026 announcement. Nvidia’s original news post is dated November 21, 2024. Its August 2026 monthly update focused on 26 games and did not present S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Fallout 3 or Oblivion as new additions that month.
Nvidia’s current service page advertises more than 4,500 PC games across connected libraries, while availability and plan access can vary by region, account and tier. Check the current GeForce NOW catalog before spending money, especially if you are relying on a specific store or PC Game Pass.
