The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti launched on April 16, 2025. NVIDIA announced a U.S. launch MSRP of $379 for the 8GB model and $429 for the 16GB model. Both versions use GDDR7 memory and support NVIDIA’s Blackwell features, including DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation. There was no standard Founders Edition, so actual prices depend on the specific add-in-board partner card and retailer.
Those figures are launch MSRPs, not guaranteed current prices. Retail pricing varies by region, taxes, stock, seller, cooler design, factory overclock, and demand.

RTX 5060 Ti launch date
NVIDIA announced the RTX 5060 Ti on April 15, 2025, and confirmed availability beginning April 16, 2025. The 8GB and 16GB versions launched at the same time.
That means April 16, 2025 is a confirmed historical release date—not an expected or speculative one. NVIDIA’s official launch announcement provides the launch timing and pricing.

RTX 5060 Ti MSRP: $379 for 8GB, $429 for 16GB
| Model | VRAM | U.S. launch MSRP | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 5060 Ti | 8GB GDDR7 | $379 | Budget-focused 1080p gaming |
| GeForce RTX 5060 Ti | 16GB GDDR7 | $429 | Longer ownership and heavier VRAM workloads |
The $379 and $429 figures are NVIDIA’s announced U.S. starting prices before sales tax. They are not universal prices for every retail card. ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, Zotac, and other board partners can charge more for larger coolers, factory overclocks, RGB lighting, compact designs, or premium build features.
When checking a listing, identify the exact model, memory capacity, retailer or marketplace seller, shipping cost, stock status, and return policy. A current price should also be dated and tied to a specific region. The launch MSRP should not be treated as a guaranteed September 2026 street price.
8GB vs. 16GB: which RTX 5060 Ti should you buy?
The central buying decision is the extra 8GB of VRAM for the original $50 launch premium. More memory does not automatically make the 16GB card proportionally faster: the GPU’s core rendering performance remains broadly the same. The extra capacity mainly provides more room for demanding textures, ray tracing, mods, higher resolutions, and GPU-accelerated applications.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Choose the 8GB model if:
- You are primarily targeting 1080p gaming.
- You mostly play competitive, older, or less demanding games.
- Your budget is strict and the 8GB card is meaningfully cheaper than the 16GB version.
- You expect to upgrade again relatively soon.
The limitation is longevity. Newer games, ultra-quality textures, ray tracing, and modded titles can place greater pressure on 8GB. That does not make the 8GB model universally unusable, but it makes settings and ownership horizon important.

Choose the 16GB model if:
- You plan to play at 1440p.
- You expect to keep the card for several years.
- You use high-resolution texture packs or graphics mods.
- You edit video, work in 3D, use AI tools, or run other GPU-accelerated workloads.
- The price premium remains close to the original $50 difference.
The 16GB version still cannot overcome every performance limit. If the GPU lacks enough rendering power for a particular game, extra VRAM will not fix that. It is best understood as additional headroom, not a guarantee of higher frame rates.
There was no standard RTX 5060 Ti Founders Edition
NVIDIA did not list a standard Founders Edition RTX 5060 Ti, and launch coverage reported partner-board-only availability. Buyers therefore choose among add-in-board designs rather than a single NVIDIA-branded reference card.
That makes the card’s physical and electrical specifications part of the purchase decision. Check the exact card’s:
- Length and thickness, including slot count.
- Cooler and fan design.
- Power connector and recommended power supply.
- Factory clock settings.
- Noise characteristics and warranty.
- Retailer return policy.
A cheaper model is not a bargain if it does not fit the case, has an unsuitable power connector, or comes from an unreliable marketplace seller.

Core specifications and features
According to NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 family specifications page, the RTX 5060 Ti is based on the Blackwell architecture and is offered with either 8GB or 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 128-bit interface. It uses PCIe 5.0 connectivity and supports hardware ray tracing, NVIDIA Reflex, DLSS 4, and Multi Frame Generation.
Custom partner cards can differ in dimensions, cooling, clock speeds, power input, and board layout. NVIDIA’s published specifications should therefore be read as the authority for the GPU family, while the manufacturer’s page is the authority for a particular retail model.
DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation are not native performance
DLSS Super Resolution reconstructs an image from a lower internal render resolution. Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation create additional displayed frames using AI-assisted techniques. These features can improve perceived smoothness in supported games, but generated frames are not equivalent to frames rendered natively by the GPU.
When comparing cards, separate native rendering performance, upscaling results, generated-frame output, and responsiveness. A very high frame-rate figure produced with Multi Frame Generation should not be interpreted as the same thing as an equally high native frame rate. NVIDIA discusses these features in its launch coverage and RTX 5060 Ti driver announcement.

How to judge the RTX 5060 Ti’s value
The launch MSRP is only one part of the decision. Compare the exact street price against:
- RTX 4060 Ti: Worth considering mainly when heavily discounted; its older generation and similar memory limitations can weaken its value.
- RTX 4070 or RTX 4070 Super: Potentially much faster, but only relevant if discounted close enough to your budget.
- RTX 5070-class cards: Better performance, but usually not a direct alternative for a strict mid-range budget.
- AMD Radeon cards: May offer stronger raster performance or more VRAM at a similar price, while differing in ray tracing, upscaling, frame generation, creator software, and AI support.
- Used GPUs: Can deliver more performance per dollar, but introduce condition, warranty, power-consumption, and seller risks.
For a 1080p-focused buyer, the 8GB card can make sense when its discount is substantial. For 1440p gaming or multi-year ownership, the 16GB model is easier to justify when it remains close to $429. Neither model is automatically good value if its price approaches a substantially faster GPU.
Where to check availability
For current listings, check the exact model and seller rather than relying on a generic RTX 5060 Ti search result. Useful starting points include Best Buy, Newegg, and Amazon. Marketplace listings require particular attention to seller reputation, returns, shipping, and whether the card is actually in stock.

Bottom line
The RTX 5060 Ti launched on April 16, 2025 at $379 for 8GB and $429 for 16GB in the United States. The 16GB version is generally the more durable choice when the price difference is near $50, especially for 1440p gaming, demanding textures, mods, and longer ownership. The 8GB version is mainly compelling for budget-conscious 1080p buyers or when it is substantially cheaper. In both cases, judge the exact partner card and current street price—not just NVIDIA’s historical starting MSRP.
