Highlighted games and DLSS features

The launch announcement specifically highlighted Black Myth: Wukong and No More Room in Hell 2 as DLSS 4-supported games. NVIDIA also highlighted a “Reanimation” update for No More Room in Hell 2 that added DLSS Multi Frame Generation.

The driver and a game update do different jobs. The driver provides GPU support, profiles, and software-level readiness; the game’s patch must add or enable title-specific features. Installing 576.02 therefore does not make DLSS 4 or Multi Frame Generation available in every game.

DLSS is a collection of technologies rather than one switch. Super Resolution upscales rendered frames, Ray Reconstruction assists ray-traced image reconstruction, Multi Frame Generation creates additional frames in supported games, and Reflex targets latency reduction. Availability depends on the game, GPU, settings, and implementation.

New Optimal Playable Settings profiles

NVIDIA added profiles for:

  • Deadlock
  • Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced
  • Half-Life 2 with RTX
  • inZOI
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • The Last of Us Part II Remastered

Was Driver 576.02 required?

NVIDIA described the launch Game Ready Driver as required for users adding the new RTX 5060 Ti to their systems. In practical terms, Windows may display an image using a generic driver, but the proper NVIDIA package is needed for normal GeForce performance, game optimizations, RTX features, DLSS support, display features, and NVIDIA control options.

That wording applies to launch support. It does not mean RTX 5060 Ti owners should continue using 576.02 indefinitely. A newer compatible Game Ready Driver is generally preferable because it can include later fixes, game profiles, and security or compatibility improvements.

RTX 5060 Ti launch context

The desktop RTX 5060 Ti launched in 8GB and 16GB configurations. NVIDIA announced U.S. launch MSRPs of $379 for 8GB and $429 for 16GB on April 15, 2025, with availability beginning April 16. Those are launch prices, not verified current retail prices.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5060 WINDFORCE OC 8G Graphics Card, Cooling System, 8GB 128-bit GDDR7, PCIe 5.0, Manufactured by NVIDIA, DisplayPort & HDMI - Video Output Interface, GV-N5060WF2OC-8GD Video Card

  • Powered by GeForce RTX 5060
  • Integrated with 8GB GDDR7 128bit memory interface
  • PCIe 5.0
  • WINDFORCE cooling system

The 16GB model offers more memory headroom for demanding games, high-resolution texture packs, mods, and longer ownership. The 8GB version can make sense for a cost-conscious 1080p-focused build, but newer games may expose the limits of 8GB sooner. Capacity does not by itself guarantee a fixed performance advantage, so current pricing and independent benchmarks matter.

NVIDIA’s launch material claimed that the RTX 5060 family could be up to twice as fast as the previous generation in selected scenarios using DLSS 4 and related technologies. It also claimed RTX 5060 Ti performance was doubled versus the RTX 4060 Ti in numerous games, with examples such as roughly 20% gains in A Plague Tale: Requiem and Delta Force without Multi Frame Generation. These are NVIDIA’s test claims, not a universal performance guarantee from installing Driver 576.02.

How to install the driver

Recommended: NVIDIA App

  1. Open or install the NVIDIA App.
  2. Open the Drivers section.
  3. Select the current compatible Game Ready Driver.
  4. Download and install it.
  5. Restart Windows if prompted.
  6. Confirm the GPU and installed driver version in the NVIDIA App or NVIDIA Control Panel.

Manual installation

  1. Open NVIDIA’s manual driver-search page.
  2. Choose GeForce as the product type.
  3. Select GeForce RTX 50 Series and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti.
  4. Select the installed 64-bit Windows version.
  5. Choose Game Ready Driver.
  6. Download the newest compatible WHQL release, then run the installer.
  7. Use the normal installation option unless troubleshooting requires a clean installation.
  8. Restart Windows and verify that the game’s graphics menu exposes its supported RTX and DLSS options.

If you have just installed the card, shut down the PC first, seat the RTX 5060 Ti securely, connect the required power cable for your specific board-partner model, and connect the monitor to the graphics card rather than the motherboard. After Windows starts, install the current driver, update the game through its launcher, and enable DLSS, ray tracing, Reflex, or Multi Frame Generation one at a time while testing stability.

Game Ready or Studio Driver?

Choose the Game Ready Driver if gaming is your priority and you want support around new games, patches, and downloadable content. Choose the Studio Driver if your priority is tested creative-application workflows.

Both branches can support games and creative applications, but their release and testing priorities differ. NVIDIA’s April 2025 Studio Driver also supported the RTX 5060 Ti, so hardware support was not exclusive to the Game Ready branch.

Desktop versus laptop support

The RTX 5060 Ti discussed in this launch announcement is a desktop GPU. Notebook graphics systems have manufacturer-specific firmware, power limits, cooling, and display routing. Laptop owners should normally check the notebook manufacturer’s certified driver before installing a generic NVIDIA package. NVIDIA notes that OEM drivers are certified for particular systems.

Troubleshooting

The RTX 5060 Ti is not detected

Do not assume a detection problem is caused by the driver. Check the card’s PCIe seating, auxiliary power connection, PSU switch and cabling, BIOS display-output selection, Windows Device Manager, and monitor cable. The monitor should be connected to the graphics card.

The installation fails

  1. Restart Windows.
  2. Close games, monitoring utilities, and overlays.
  3. Retry through the NVIDIA App or manual installer.
  4. Confirm the selected GPU and Windows version.
  5. Use a clean installation if the existing NVIDIA installation appears corrupted.
  6. If the problem began after an update, compare with the last known stable driver and check NVIDIA’s release notes and feedback channels.

A clean installation can be useful when changing from AMD or Intel graphics, recovering from repeated driver crashes, or fixing black screens and corrupted installations. It is not necessary for every routine update.

Games crash or stutter after updating

  • Disable overlays temporarily.
  • Test with Multi Frame Generation disabled.
  • Try DLSS Super Resolution alone or native rendering.
  • Check whether the issue affects one game or several.
  • Compare behavior with the previous driver.
  • Consult the release-notes PDF for known issues before rolling back.

Higher displayed frame rates from Frame Generation do not automatically mean lower input latency. Results vary with the game, CPU limit, base frame rate, resolution, image-quality settings, and frame-pacing behavior.

RTX 5060 Ti alternatives

AMD positioned the Radeon RX 9060 XT as a competing 1440p card in 8GB and 16GB versions, with announced May 2025 SEPs of $299 and $349 respectively. It uses AMD’s Radeon driver and FSR 4 ecosystem rather than NVIDIA’s DLSS ecosystem. It may suit buyers prioritizing raster performance or VRAM per dollar, while the RTX 5060 Ti is the more direct fit for buyers specifically seeking DLSS features, CUDA workflows, NVIDIA tools, or Multi Frame Generation.

Those AMD figures are launch prices, not verified September 2026 retail prices. Current buying decisions should use live retailer pricing and independent benchmarks.

Should you install 576.02?

New RTX 5060 Ti owners should install the newest compatible Game Ready Driver from NVIDIA rather than deliberately searching for the old launch package. Driver 576.02 remains important because it was the release that introduced official launch support on April 16, 2025, but it should not be presented as the current driver in 2026.

Existing RTX 5060 Ti owners already running a newer stable driver should not downgrade merely because 576.02 was the launch release. Keep the newer driver unless a specific compatibility problem requires testing an older version.
