NVIDIA Unveils GeForce RTX 5060 Family: Launch Prices, Specs, and Availability

NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 family launched with US MSRPs below $500, but an August 2026 snapshot of tracked Newegg listings put the RTX 5060 Ti models above that mark.

NVIDIA announced its GeForce RTX 5060 desktop family on April 15, 2025, with US launch prices starting at $299. The lineup includes the RTX 5060 and two RTX 5060 Ti configurations—8GB and 16GB—although “under $500” describes those original MSRPs, not a guaranteed current price. In Tom’s Hardware’s August 10, 2026 snapshot of tracked US Newegg listings, the median price for every configuration was at least $469.99.

What NVIDIA announced

NVIDIA’s April 15, 2025 announcement covered GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti desktop graphics cards, as well as RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs. The two desktop tiers use NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture. NVIDIA lists support for DLSS 4, ray tracing and Reflex; those feature listings describe supported technologies, not independently measured performance in a particular game.

NVIDIA’s press release described the family as offering “next-generation performance and AI-enhanced visuals starting at $299.” That is NVIDIA’s marketing claim, not an independent performance finding.

RTX 5060 family: models, specifications, and launch prices

The RTX 5060 Ti comes in two memory configurations. NVIDIA lists the same core count and boost clock for both Ti versions; the principal listed difference between them is memory capacity and launch price.

GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7 4,608 2.57 GHz 128-bit $429

The specifications are from NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 family page; launch prices are from NVIDIA’s April 15, 2025 announcement. These are launch MSRPs, not current retail quotes.

RTX 5060 release dates and launch availability

NVIDIA said the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and 16GB cards would be available starting April 16, 2025, at $379 and $429, respectively. It announced RTX 5060 cards for May 2025 at $299. The launch release specified only “May”; NVIDIA’s product page currently displays May 19 as the RTX 5060 availability date, so that more precise date should not be mistaken for the wording of the original announcement.

NVIDIA also said laptops with RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs would arrive beginning in May 2025, with systems starting at $1,099. That was a launch-era starting price, not a present-day laptop price. The announcement named board partners for custom desktop cards and said major manufacturers would offer laptops; those statements do not establish current stock.

Does the RTX 5060 family still cost under $500?

Only at the level of NVIDIA’s announced US launch MSRPs. The RTX 5060 and both RTX 5060 Ti configurations were announced below $500, but observed retail prices can be higher.

For context, Tom’s Hardware reported these August 10, 2026 median prices from tracked US Newegg listings. The publisher uses listing medians as an indication of prices likely to be found in stock; they are not universal prices or live quotes.

Model NVIDIA launch MSRP (US) Tom’s Hardware median, tracked US Newegg listings, Aug. 10, 2026
RTX 5060 8GB $299 $469.99
RTX 5060 Ti 8GB $379 $529.99
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB $429 $804.99

The dated medians come from Tom’s Hardware’s August 10, 2026 report. They show why the “under $500” headline is best read as launch positioning: in that snapshot, the RTX 5060 was near the threshold and both Ti medians were above it. Prices vary by seller, region, and time.

How to choose between the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti

RTX 5060: the entry model

The desktop RTX 5060 has 8GB of GDDR7, 3,840 CUDA cores and a listed 2.50 GHz boost clock. Its announced US launch MSRP was $299. Consider its actual price and the memory capacity in relation to the games and settings you plan to use; the specifications here do not establish a specific frame rate or guarantee how a game will perform.

RTX 5060 Ti 8GB: more cores at a lower Ti launch price

The 8GB Ti version lists 4,608 CUDA cores and a 2.57 GHz boost clock, with a $379 launch MSRP. It shares the 8GB capacity of the RTX 5060, so compare the exact card’s price and your workload rather than assuming that the Ti name or core count alone settles which is the better buy.

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: more memory capacity

The 16GB Ti keeps the listed 4,608 CUDA cores and 2.57 GHz boost clock while doubling the memory capacity of the 8GB Ti. NVIDIA’s launch MSRP was $429. The extra capacity may matter to a buyer whose intended games or other workloads benefit from more graphics memory, but these sources do not establish a tested performance advantage over the 8GB version.

For any partner-made card, verify the exact board’s dimensions, power requirements, cooling and connectors on that manufacturer’s listing. Those details can vary by custom design and are not established by NVIDIA’s family-level specifications.

What NVIDIA lists for DLSS, ray tracing, and Reflex

NVIDIA lists DLSS 4 features including Super Resolution, DLAA, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation, alongside ray tracing support. Its product page also lists Reflex 2 and marks Frame Warp “Coming Soon” on the page captured for this article. These are vendor feature listings; they do not by themselves quantify performance, image quality or latency in a particular title.
