NVIDIA’s Verified Priority Access is real, but it is not a guaranteed queue or reservation. The program gives selected account holders an opportunity to buy eligible Founders Edition graphics cards directly from NVIDIA, usually at the card’s official MSRP. Signing up only enters you for consideration; it does not guarantee an invitation, inventory, or a completed purchase.
The original U.S. program covered the GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition at a $999 launch MSRP and the GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition at a $1,999 launch MSRP. Those prices are historical MSRPs, not promises about current retailer pricing or availability.

What is NVIDIA Verified Priority Access?
Verified Priority Access is NVIDIA’s limited-inventory buying program for selected customers. Instead of putting every shopper into a public checkout queue, NVIDIA asks eligible users to submit interest in a particular product. When cards are available, NVIDIA selects some participants and sends them an email invitation to purchase through an official NVIDIA sales channel.
The system is intended to reduce the advantage of automated bots and scalpers. It is not a paid membership, a permanent reservation, or a normal first-come, first-served queue. Some retailer and community descriptions call the selection a “random lottery,” but NVIDIA’s public materials describe limited inventory, selection, and email invitations without documenting the exact randomization method.

How the original U.S. program worked
For the initial U.S. RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 rollout, contemporary reporting said applicants needed an NVIDIA account created before January 30, 2025. Users then submitted interest through NVIDIA’s official form and selected an eligible product when options were available.
- Visit NVIDIA’s official Verified Priority Access page.
- Sign in with the relevant NVIDIA account.
- Check whether a live enrollment form and eligible product options are shown.
- Submit interest for the RTX Founders Edition model offered.
- Monitor the email address associated with the account.
- If selected, follow the official purchase link and review the model, price, region, tax, shipping, and any expiration notice before paying.
The January 30 cutoff is a historical launch-era rule, not proof that the same requirement applies to every future round. NVIDIA can change eligibility, products, regions, purchase limits, and invitation terms. The live page is the authority.

No. You can enroll and never receive an invitation. Even an invitation is an opportunity to buy, not proof that the card will remain available until you check out.
A successful purchase can still depend on inventory, account verification, regional restrictions, the invitation’s validity period, NVIDIA’s purchase terms, and any one-per-customer or anti-resale limits. Do not assume that an invitation is transferable or that a screenshot can be used by another person.

Which GPUs are covered?
The original U.S. online program focused on:
- GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition
- GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition
That does not automatically include ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, Zotac, or other add-in-board models. It also does not cover every RTX 50-series product, laptops, prebuilt PCs, or third-party retailer inventory.
NVIDIA has also used the Verified Priority Access name for region-specific and in-person events. Its 2026 QuakeCon promotion offered in-person access to RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Founders Edition cards while supplies lasted. That event ran August 6–9, 2026, and is no longer an active online buying option. NVIDIA also promoted an in-person opportunity at PAX East in March 2026.

| GPU | Launch Founders Edition MSRP |
|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 5080 | $999 |
| GeForce RTX 5090 | $1,999 |
These figures are the launch MSRPs reported for the Founders Edition cards. They exclude sales tax and shipping and should not be treated as current street prices. Partner cards may cost more or less, while shortages and retailer pricing can change the final total.
As of August 2026, reporting still found RTX 5090 prices well above the original MSRP in parts of the retail market, making a genuine MSRP invitation potentially valuable. Prices are volatile, however, and must be checked again at the time of purchase.
Is Priority Access still open in the United States?
NVIDIA said in August 2025 that U.S. invitations were continuing and that the program had expanded to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. That announcement does not establish that a new U.S. enrollment round is open in September 2026.

Check the official U.S. enrollment page directly. If it shows no form or eligible product, there is no basis for assuming that old sign-up links, screenshots, or launch-era instructions still work. European users may be directed to NVIDIA Marketplace at marketplace.nvidia.com/en-eu/account/vpa/.
How to avoid Priority Access scams
- Use only NVIDIA.com or an NVIDIA-controlled Marketplace domain.
- Never pay someone to join Verified Priority Access.
- Do not buy or sell invitation links.
- Treat unsolicited Discord, Telegram, Reddit, and social-media messages as suspicious.
- Hover over email links and confirm that they lead to an NVIDIA-controlled domain before signing in.
- Never enter NVIDIA credentials into a shortened or unfamiliar URL.
- Never send an authentication or verification code to another person.
- Do not assume an invitation screenshot proves that an offer is genuine or transferable.

Founders Edition versus an add-in-board card
Founders Edition is not automatically better than every partner design. It may appeal to buyers who want NVIDIA’s design, a compact-looking build, or the possibility of buying at official MSRP through NVIDIA’s channel.
An add-in-board card from ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, Zotac, or another manufacturer may offer a larger cooler, different noise and thermal behavior, a factory overclock, stronger power delivery, a different warranty arrangement, or better local availability. VPA applies to a particular product and supply channel; it is not a performance guarantee or a blanket endorsement of FE cards.
Should you wait?
Waiting makes sense if:
- You specifically want an RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 Founders Edition.
- You will not pay substantially above MSRP.
- Your current GPU is adequate.
- You can monitor email and complete a limited-time checkout promptly.
- You live in a supported region and the official page shows an active enrollment opportunity.
Consider an alternative now if:
- You need a GPU for work or a time-sensitive PC build.
- An authorized retailer has a suitable card at a price you can accept.
- You prefer a particular cooler, warranty, or partner-board feature.
- You are not eligible for the current round.
- You cannot risk missing a limited invitation or sellout.
A sensible approach is to enroll through NVIDIA if the official form is available, while separately comparing authorized retailers and partner cards. Enrollment costs nothing, but it should not be treated as a buying plan with a guaranteed outcome.
Verified Priority Access timeline
- January 30, 2025: Historical account-creation cutoff reported for the original U.S. enrollment rules.
- February 2025: NVIDIA launched the U.S. RTX 5080/5090 Founders Edition program.
- February 26, 2025: Reports said RTX 5090 invitations had begun going out.
- August 2025: NVIDIA announced European expansion and said U.S. invitations were continuing.
- March 26–29, 2026: NVIDIA promoted an in-person opportunity at PAX East.
- August 6–9, 2026: QuakeCon offered in-person access to selected RTX 50-series Founders Edition cards while supplies lasted.
Bottom line
NVIDIA Verified Priority Access is a legitimate way for selected users to attempt to buy certain Founders Edition GPUs directly at MSRP. It is not a guaranteed reservation, it does not cover every RTX 5080 or RTX 5090, and the original 2025 U.S. eligibility rules should not be assumed to remain current. Check NVIDIA’s live page, use only official links, and keep an authorized retailer or partner-card alternative in mind.
