No—buying an RTX 50-series GPU does not currently include Borderlands 4. NVIDIA’s promotion was legitimate, but it covered only select GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 products. It included the Steam Standard Edition and the cosmetic Gilded Glory Pack, ended on September 22, 2025, and required code redemption by October 22, 2025. NVIDIA now marks the promotion as unavailable.
NVIDIA’s campaign page is the final word for current availability. Treat any retailer listing that still advertises the bundle as potentially stale unless it provides clear, verifiable information about an unused code.

What the NVIDIA promotion included
The original bundle offered Borderlands 4 Standard Edition for Steam with an eligible NVIDIA purchase. The bonus was the Gilded Glory Pack, containing:
- One Vault Hunter skin
- One weapon skin
- One ECHO-4 drone skin
This was not the Deluxe or Super Deluxe Edition. It did not include the season pass, story expansions, the Vault Hunter Pack, or the Bounty Pack Bundle. The official Borderlands editions guide lists those larger editions and their additional content separately.

Which RTX 50-series products qualified?
The promotion did not apply to every RTX 50-series product. NVIDIA’s terms specified selected products from these families:

“Select products” is the important qualification. The GPU family name alone was not proof of eligibility. A specific SKU, participating retailer or system builder, regional availability, and remaining promotional supply all mattered. Check the complete product listing and invoice rather than relying on an old banner image.

The redemption deadline did not extend the purchase period. A qualifying product bought after September 22, 2025 was not covered by the original promotion. Since the redemption deadline has also passed, buyers should not assume that an old, unused-looking code will still work.
How redemption originally worked
The original process required the qualifying GPU to be installed in the PC running the NVIDIA app:

- Buy an eligible product from a participating retailer or system builder during the promotional period.
- Obtain the promotional code or redemption instructions from the seller.
- Install or open the NVIDIA app on a PC containing the qualifying GPU.
- Sign in to the NVIDIA app and enter the code in the redemption area.
- Sign in to the intended Steam account when prompted.
- Confirm that Borderlands 4 Standard Edition was added to that Steam account.
- Install the game through Steam.
This is the historical redemption process, not a promise that expired codes can still be claimed. The terms limited the offer to one code per customer and one digital download code while supplies lasted.
Regional and account restrictions
The original terms required internet access, compliance with the game’s age requirement, and adherence to country-specific redemption rules. Codes could also be restricted to the region where the qualifying purchase was made. The published terms listed exclusions including Mainland China, Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Sudan, Venezuela, and Crimea, although readers should always check the terms applicable to their specific country.
Because the entitlement was for Steam, signing in to the wrong Steam account could attach the game to the wrong account. Do not assume the code can be converted into cash, exchanged for another edition, transferred across regions, or used as an upgrade if you already own the game; the promotion terms did not provide those options.
How to assess an old retailer listing
In 2026, the phrase “Borderlands 4 included” is not sufficient evidence. Before buying old stock, verify:

- The exact desktop, laptop, or system SKU was listed as eligible.
- The original purchase fell between August 18 and September 22, 2025.
- The seller was a participating retailer or system builder.
- The listing explicitly includes a code rather than displaying an old promotional image.
- The code is unused and valid for the buyer’s region.
- The seller has a return policy that covers a missing or invalid code.
A used RTX 5070, 5070 Ti, 5080, or 5090 should not be treated as carrying the game entitlement merely because the GPU model was part of the promotion. The offer was tied to an eligible purchase and promotional code, not simply to ownership of the hardware. If a used-product seller cannot prove that an unused code is included, assume it is not.
What if the code did not appear in the NVIDIA app?
For a historical claim, possible explanations included an ineligible SKU, a nonparticipating seller, a purchase outside the promotional dates, a missing seller-issued code, a previously claimed code, the wrong NVIDIA account, or the qualifying GPU not being installed in the redemption PC. Regional and age requirements could also block redemption.

For purchases made during the original window, the appropriate contacts were the retailer for proof-of-purchase or missing-code problems and NVIDIA for promotion-related support. Neither the published terms nor the current campaign page establishes a general post-deadline replacement or extension.

Only buy the hardware if it makes sense without the expired promotion. Consider your target resolution and frame rate, CPU, power supply, case airflow, VRAM needs, ray tracing requirements, and whether you need DLSS or frame generation. For laptops, compare GPU power limits, cooling, display resolution, CPU, memory, and upgradeability—not just the GPU label.

NVIDIA promoted DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and Reflex for Borderlands 4. NVIDIA reported performance gains of up to 5.5× at 4K maximum settings in its own testing, but those are vendor-reported figures that vary by GPU, resolution, settings, and system configuration. They should not be treated as independent benchmark results or as a guarantee of equivalent gains in image quality, latency, or minimum-frame performance. NVIDIA’s published launch starting prices were $1,999 for the RTX 5090 and $999 for the RTX 5080, but those are historical launch figures, not current prices. Do not use the old game bonus to justify paying substantially more for hardware that does not fit your actual gaming needs.
Current ways to play
Borderlands 4 launched on September 12, 2025. The cited official support information lists Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game can be purchased separately through the Steam store, the Epic Games Store, or the official Borderlands site. Verify the current edition and price at the storefront before buying.
Choosing a GPU based on performance, buying the game separately, or selecting a complete system that meets your needs is safer than chasing an expired code. NVIDIA’s current RTX 50-series graphics-card page and its GeForce laptop listings are useful starting points, but neither should be read as evidence that the Borderlands 4 bundle is still active.
