Answers for November 21, 2024

Spoilers below.

Color Category Words
Yellow Kinds of shirts FLANNEL, OXFORD, POLO, TEE
Green Spheres in milk tea BOBA, BUBBLE, PEARL, TAPIOCA
Blue Marine invertebrates, familiarly CORAL, JELLY, SPONGE, STAR
Purple Starts of pasta names FETT, PENN, TORTE, ZIT

How the categories fit

Yellow: Kinds of shirts

Flannel, Oxford, polo and tee are familiar terms for shirt types.

Green: Spheres in milk tea

Boba, bubble, pearl and tapioca are terms associated with the chewy spheres or toppings in milk tea. The words are grouped by their association with the drink; they are not necessarily interchangeable on every menu or across regions.

Blue: Marine invertebrates, familiarly

Coral, jelly, sponge and star point to familiar marine-organism names such as jellyfish and starfish. “Familiarly” signals an everyday-language grouping rather than a strict taxonomic classification.

Purple: Starts of pasta names

Each entry is a word fragment that begins a pasta name: FETT starts fettuccine, PENN starts penne, TORTE starts tortellini, and ZIT starts ziti. The answers are beginnings, not full pasta names.
