| Blue | TV COMEDY FAMILIES | GRIFFIN, MUNSTER, PARTRIDGE, PICKLES | Each is a family surname from a television comedy. |
| Purple | WORDS AFTER “K” | MART, POP, STREET, SWISS | Put K before each word: K-mart, K-pop, K Street, and K Swiss. |
How the tricky groups work
Bird names that also work as verbs
The green set is not simply four bird names. DUCK, GROUSE, HAWK, and SWALLOW can each also function as verbs, which is the shared property that distinguishes the group.
Words that follow K
The purple set completes familiar expressions when K is placed before each word: K-mart, K-pop, K Street, and K Swiss. The K belongs in front of the answer, not after it.

How Connections works
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four. WordHint’s description of the game says players have four mistakes before the puzzle ends; that is a guide’s gameplay description, not an independently verified statement of current official rules.
