Answers for NYT Connections #922
| Color | Category | Tiles |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Findings | DATA, DETAILS, INFORMATION, INTELLIGENCE |
| Green | Dinner options | COOK, DELIVERY, GO OUT, LEFTOVERS |
| Blue | U.S. cabinet departments | COMMERCE, EDUCATION, ENERGY, LABOR |
| Purple | Homophones of places to park a ship | BIRTH, DOC, PEER, WORF |
Why the purple group works
The purple category depends on sound rather than spelling. BIRTH sounds like berth, DOC like dock, PEER like pier, and WORF like wharf. Each standard nautical word can describe a place where a vessel is secured.
How this archived puzzle fits the game
Connections presents 16 tiles that must be sorted into four groups of four. Deliberate overlaps and red herrings make several combinations appear plausible, and four incorrect guesses end the game. The daily puzzle is available through NYT Games on desktop or mobile. Access to earlier puzzles, including this one, is included with an NYT All Access or Games subscription, according to Forbes.
