Need a nudge for the Friday, March 20, 2026, NYT Connections puzzle? This is game #1013. Start with the broad hints below, then reveal category names or the complete groupings when you’re ready.

Hints for Connections #1013

Connections asks players to sort 16 tiles into four groups of four based on a shared feature. The hints below move from general clues to the category names and finally the exact answers, so you can stop before seeing more than you want.

Broad clues

  • Yellow: Butt in.
  • Green: As featured in a property game.
  • Blue: Appear in ancient mythology.
  • Purple: Precede each tile with an oval foodstuff.

Category names

  • Yellow: DISTURB
  • Green: WORDS ON A MONOPOLY BOARD
  • Blue: FIGURE IN GREEK MYTH
  • Purple: EGG ____

Answers for Friday, March 20

Here are all 16 tiles, arranged by group:

  • DISTURB: ALARM, CONCERN, RATTLE, SHAKE.
  • WORDS ON A MONOPOLY BOARD: BOARDWALK, CHANCE, LUXURY, PARKING.
  • FIGURE IN GREEK MYTH: FATE, FURY, MUSE, SIREN.
  • EGG ____: CARTON, NOODLE, ROLL, TIMER.

Why the green and purple groups may feel unfamiliar

The Monopoly group uses U.S. board vocabulary. TechRadar’s Marc McLaren notes that the UK version of Monopoly has no BOARDWALK, and that UK players use “egg boxes” rather than a CARTON. Those regional differences can make the board-space and egg-phrase connections less immediate for some players.

For the full answer list and additional explanation of the game’s mechanics, see TechRadar’s March 20 guide. The groupings are also corroborated by Parade and Forbes. Parade appears to print “PARKNG” in its green answer group; PARKING is the spelling listed by TechRadar and Forbes.
