How to approach Connections: Sports Edition #60
The board has 16 words to sort into four groups of four. Sports terms and names can have more than one plausible connection, so scan for alternate meanings before committing a group. Use the hints from broad to specific, and consider rearranging the board if seeing the words in a new order helps you spot a pattern.
Progressive hints for November 22
These clues reveal the categories in the puzzle’s color order, from yellow through purple. Stop at any point if you want to preserve the challenge.
- Yellow: Grabbing or catching.
- Green: Hopping to it.
- Blue: Likely to have or be near T-shirt cannons.
- Purple: People with the same first name.

Why the groups can be tricky
Several words invite a sports-related interpretation before the intended connection becomes clear. The yellow set uses verbs associated with fielding a baseball; the green set consists of figure-skating jumps. The blue category is made up of NFL team mascots, while the purple group links famous people named Bill. If a word seems to fit more than one category, use the hint ladder to test the larger group rather than locking in the first association.
