How NYT Connections works

Connections presents 16 words and asks players to sort them into four groups of four based on a shared theme. The groups are color-coded from yellow, the easiest, to purple, the trickiest. The New York Times says the daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone, so its calendar date can differ by location. Connections is free to play on supported NYT platforms; access to the full puzzle archive is limited to All Access and Games subscribers. See the NYT Help Center’s Connections rules and access details.
