Why these words can be tricky
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four. Some words can seem to fit more than one category, which is part of the challenge. For this board, HAMMER and POUND can suggest both forceful action and other meanings, while MOON and STAR may evoke a broader space theme. The intended groups are the specific categories shown above.

The New York Times Help Center describes the game as having exactly one solution, with categories and words curated by editors using the Oxford Dictionary. The guide also says the daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone.
