Category Words Why they fit
PLAYING CARDS ACE, JACK, KING, QUEEN Each is a rank or face-card term in a standard deck.
DOPPELGÄNGER CLONE, DOUBLE, RINGER, TWIN Each can describe a person or thing that closely resembles another.
EAR PIERCING SITES CONCH, HELIX, LOBE, ROOK Each names an ear area used as a piercing location.
____ MAIL CHAIN, ELECTRONIC, JUNK, SNAIL Each can come before “mail” in a familiar phrase.

How the trickier connections work

Spot the familiar phrases

CHAIN, ELECTRONIC, JUNK, and SNAIL all form phrases with “mail” as the second word. Thinking of the missing shared word after the four choices can help distinguish this group from tempting alternatives.

Read the ear terms literally

CONCH, HELIX, LOBE, and ROOK are not general body parts in this grouping; they are named parts of the ear associated with piercing placements.

Separate ranks from lookalikes

ACE, JACK, KING, and QUEEN belong together as playing-card terms. CLONE, DOUBLE, RINGER, and TWIN instead describe resemblance. Keeping those two ideas apart helps avoid mixing a “double” with the card group.
